As a lifelong artist, people person, and child at heart, I think I would make a great babysitter for your child. I have prior childcare and babysitting experience, and my liberal arts education and extensive artistic background has taught me how to incorporate my enthusiastic creativity and unique problem solving skills into everything I do. Additionally, I take safety very seriously, keep a level head in emergency situations and am CPR, First Aid, and BBP training certified, as well as hold a valid paraprofessional license. My most direct childcare experience comes from babysitting my professors’ kids throughout college, as well as my time volunteering in the LARY Buddies program, a youth mentoring program through my university that partnered college students with children attending the local elementary school. That being said, most of my prior work experience has involved kids in one way or another. Outside of the classroom, I have experience entertaining and engaging children through puppetry and theater, with my most recent role being Run Crew for the historic Lookingglass Theater. The shows I worked were kid friendly, and a lot of what I did involved children's participation and engagement. I also have professional puppetmaking experience through the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival. Lastly, I have created art for most of my life, and credit an after school art teacher with introducing me to my lifelong passion -- I feel an obligation to pay forward what was taught to me, and it would be an honor to be a part of helping raise the next generation of children with love and kindness, and help them discover their passions.

Most recently I was an assistant preschool teacher at the San Francisco Waldorf School. I graduated with a degree in Sociology from Illinois State University and have experience with children from as young as a few months up to teenagers. I worked as a part time nanny to a set of twins around 2 months old, I have run my own circus programs for kids 5-15 and have worked as a circus coach for youth since I was 14 ages 3-18. My mom was a driving force in why I love children so much. I am a second generation circus performer and have found that working with kids who have a lot of energy things like juggling work to help center them and focus their energy into something productive. My experience with circus allows me to be patient and offer creative solutions.
