I am an elementary education major so in high-school I took a preschool class that allowed me to get experience with 3-5 year olds. Then I joined my churches nursery so I got a little over a year of experience with infants and 2-3 with toddlers. I babysit my 3 month old niece often. I work at a daycare where I float around a lot. That has allowed me to have 8 months of experience with all ages up to 4-5. The child’s wellbeing has always been my priority but also making sure they’re having fun. Working at a daycare has also taught me to communicate better with kids and parents. Knowing what helps them when they can’t really speak for themselves or can’t form full sentences. After the daycare I became a director at a summer camp/after school program which gave me experience with ages 5-12.
