I just finished an internship here in Chicago and plan on moving out of Chicago at the end of May so have a couple of months left to explore and try new things! I spent two summers (2020 and 2021) between college working as a full-time nanny for two kids back home (ages 5 to 6 and 8 to 9), helping them make lunch, taking them to activities/sports, and playing games with them. I also would help them with their summer workbooks including reading comprehension, writing, and math (even when it was the last thing they wanted to do). I am someone who enjoys being active, on their feet, and finding creative ways to spend my time, whether that be arts and crafts, reading, trying a new recipe, or just calling someone to chat when I get bored!

Hi! I’m Journie! 💕 I’m a college student, athlete, and future teacher who loves staying active and spending time with kids. I played basketball at Morton College and have wrestled since sixth grade, including competing in freestyle wrestling at Fargo and receiving a wrestling scholarship. Outside of sports, I love being outdoors, exploring nature, reading, and singing. I’m also studying Early Childhood Education because I hope to become a teacher one day. I’ve been working with children for almost three years as a kids counselor at my local park district. I spent two years with the Mavericks program, working with K–3rd graders, and this year I work with Trailblazers, working with 3rd–6th graders. I help supervise kids, organize activities, play sports like basketball and soccer, and even help run sports programs at the park district. Hi all! My name is Claire, I’m 24 years old, and I’ve spent the past 10 years working with children of various ages. I worked as an overnight camp counselor for 9 & 10 year olds for two years, and then as a day camp counselor for Kindergartners for four years. Before starting to work in non-profit, I spent a year working as a full-time nanny for a family of two boys aged 4 and 6. For the last three years, I have been working in the Non-Profit sector with kids of various ages. I spent a year with the AmeriCorp organizing an enrichment program for homeless youth, and my specific site cared for about 10 kids aged K-6. Since then, I have been working at another organization as a Lead Youth Mentor to plan and lead an after school program for underprivileged school-aged kids. This job has also allowed me to spend time in Early Childhood Education, where I have received my ECE, first aid, and Mandated Reporter certificates. I have a year of experience working with toddlers, a year of experience working with Pre-K, and some experience with infant care.
