Hi! My name is Maddy and I’m 29 years old. I have recently moved to the Avalon area in Chicago and am seeking a full-time position as a nanny. In August of 2019, I graduated from Montclair State University in New Jersey with a degree in Child Advocacy and Policy. I have lots of experience working with children and nannying. My first nannying position was in 2017 where I spent the summer as an au pair in Spain caring for three children aged 3,5, and 7. During my senior year of college, I spent my mornings nannying an 8-year-old girl. During the summer of 2018 and 2019, I worked in the Goddard School as a lead teacher for classrooms of up to 20 children between the ages of 2 and 4. I have plenty of experience with potty training, meal-time, nap time, and implementing a schedule and lesson plans. I started college career as an Early Childhood Education major at Northern Arizona University, and completed a year and a half of course work. Although I did end up changing my degree focus to political science, the educational foundation has stuck with me. I also worked as an Assistant Teacher at The Goddard School, where I worked with infants to 7 year old children. I supported lesson plans, daily activities, and kept a while prioritizing child safety and development while communicating regularly with parents and administrators. More recently, I worked with Nike Summer Camps at NAU, where I was running marketing and photography but more importantly I was running and supurvising activities everyday. participating with campers everyday. I also volunteered for several years at Mountain Vista in Denver, a Elderly Care home. where I facilitated group activities and helped coordinate events and staffing, especially around busy holiday periods. I am passionate about getting outside, the arts and human connection! I love children and how much they can teach us adults who think we have it all figured out.
