Jennifer 1 review
$20 per hour for 1 child

I am a reliable and an experienced child care provider. I have obtained an Elementary Education B.S. degree at the University of New Orleans, served as a teacher, and have a wealth of training in babysitting. I have raised four children and also have enjoyed working with all ages of children in various community events and tutoring. I am patient and motivated. I strive to help facilitate a positive environment for families. Animals are also special to me. I have a love for children and also like to play fun games to make them laugh. Please know that I can help tidy up while helping the family as a nanny or sitter, as well. :)

Jennifer cared for my 3-year-old son on a regular basis for the past year. We were so sad when we moved out of state and had to say goodbye to her, as she truly became like a part of our family. She is caring, reliable, and goes above and beyond to give our son enriching, fun and educational experiences. She was always bringing fun to toys and projects to the house, had a great sense of playfulness and adventure and endless energy to run around the playground with our son. She was always punctual and in great spirits, and accommodated our family's busy schedule with a great attitude. More than that, she even cleaned our house and did our laundry during nap time!! She has been such a blessing to us. Any families who get to work with Jennifer are truly lucky. She is one of a kind.

Amelia $20 per hour for 1 child

Hey all. I graduated from Tulane in May 2024, and after a year of traveling and nannying, am back in New Orleans for the forseeable future! I am super passionate about working with kids, and am looking to find awesome families to nanny for when I move back. My schedule is currently very flexible, and I am interested in both full-time and part-time work (occasional babysitting okay too. E.g. date night, sick day). I have my own transport.
I have extensive experience (8+ years), which includes working with newborns up to age 14, children with special needs (both verbal and nonverbal), multiples (e.g. siblings with large age gaps, twins), tutoring up to grade six, and a specialty in keeping toddlers in check (success varies depending on length of nap- lol). I also create DIY "summer camps" for kids. My most recent endeavor included keeping eight five-year-olds entertained for days at a time (activities, park, pool, crafts, positive engagement). I take a play-based, screen-free approach to nannying and easily adapt my techniques based on parents' specifications and the child's needs. I believe in holding boundaries while also holding space for very real feelings (E.g., "No, we cannot get ice cream, and I know that's sad. It's okay to flop down on the ground, cry, and feel angry. Take your time, I am here.") AED and CPR (infant, child, adult) certified. I have a ton of references, from New Orleans and elsewhere, and can share the most relevant ones with you (based on age, need of child, etc).

Hola, Hello, Bonjour! May name is Mara and I am a caring and creative thinker, decisive and dependable. Highly motivated, with years of experience working with children using alternative education methods, as well as operating and co-running an off-grid living community and retreat center. I speak Spanish, French and English. I have worked for an environmental education program teaching Earth science to fourth, fifth, and seventh graders in an outdoor classroom, been a counselor at numerous summer art camps and programs, worked as a substitute kindergarten teacher at a Waldorf school, worked at an after-care program at an elementary French immersion school, and offered childcare services since she was 16 years old for infants, toddlers and kids. I am also able to offer pet care (having had experience on the pet care app, Rover), and have extensive experience performing housekeeping duties. I love to cook and can also run errands. I have my own car and can do pick-ups and drop-offs.

Ava $20 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Ava, I'm a New Orleans transplant originally from California. I went to college at University of California Santa Barbara to study Psychology and then ended up working in the film industry as a Director's Guild of America 2nd Assistant Director. I have a younger brother (6 years younger) and grew up babysitting him as well as kids in my neighborhood when I was in high school. In college I worked at a children's pottery painting studio. After college I was also assigned to take care of my boss's 3 children and coordinated their schedules between their separated parents households. My mother was an elementary and middle school teacher and helped me learn how to help tutor children with different ability levels in numbers subjects but my favorites to assist with are still art and math :) I grew up with dogs and adopted a catahoula puppy last summer. I'm also the go to animal sitter for my friends and take care of their cats and dogs while they are traveling.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
