Since taking care of her, I have been trusted with the care of children of all ages and varying needs. I personally enjoy reading together, going on walks, working through homework, playing games, cooking, and making origami animals with kids. I am very health conscious and have received both Covid shots as well as three boosters along with my yearly flu shot. I am in my final year of teacher training, and as I look back on my journey so far, I realize how much working with kids has shaped who I am. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to teach in both elementary and high school, and it has been amazing to watch students grow, learn, and gain confidence in themselves. For eight years, I have also babysat for several families, caring for children ages 2 to 12, which taught me how important it is to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves. My involvement in scouting has been another huge part of my life—over the past ten years, I’ve worked with kids from 6 to 18, guiding them through challenges, adventures, and leadership opportunities. I even spent time in Colorado working at the YMCA, leading outdoor lessons for kids ages 8 to 16, which combined two things I love most: teaching and being outside. Across all of these experiences, one thing has become clear—I am most fulfilled when I’m working with kids. Being outdoors, learning alongside them, and helping them discover their strengths makes me feel like I am truly following my passion in life.
