Hi I am Caitlin. I am a full time nanny candidate and a senior at the University of Maryland majoring in Psychology with minors in Law and Society and Sociology. I am looking for a long term position beginning between May and September with the intention of staying with a family for at least a year.
I have more than six years of childcare experience, including two summers as a full time nanny, six years of consistent babysitting, and four years as a camp counselor caring for children from toddlers to pre teens. I have supported morning and bedtime routines, homework, reading time, creative play, outdoor activities, crafts, swimming supervision, and full summer days. I am comfortable with emotional regulation, sibling dynamics, and planning age appropriate activities.
As a psychology major, I have academic training in child development, learning, and behavior. This helps me understand milestones, transitions, emotional needs, tantrums, and different personality types. I bring structure, warmth, and consistency to a home while staying energetic and engaged. I enjoy creating activities based on each child’s interests including outdoor games, crafts, sensory activities, and seasonal projects.
What I offer
• CPR and First Aid Red Cross certified
• Strong communication skills and respect for household routines
• Organized, punctual, and dependable
• Clean driving record and comfortable with pick ups, outings, and errands. I drive a Bronco.
• Pet friendly and naturally tidy, with comfort helping with light tasks
• Experience with reading support, homework help, and structured routines
Outside childcare, I bring a strong academic and professional background. I maintain a 3.76 GPA, have been on the Dean’s List every semester, and am a member of Psi Chi, the international psychology honor society. I currently intern with the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy where I work on victim services and community focused safety initiatives. I have also served as a Senior Educator for CARE to Stop Violence and held additional leadership roles at UMD.
