Hello! I’m a native Marylander and have lived in Baltimore for a very long time. I love children and have two grown daughters who are the joy of my life. They were only 27 months apart, so life was very busy, especially in their younger years. I babysat all through my middle and high school years before I headed off to college. My personality is warm, friendly, kind and caring. I love to laugh as much as possible!I love being outdoors as much as possible and so enjoy sharing that with children on walks, at the playground and in the back or front yard. I am patient with children and learn quickly how to adapt my “way” with them so they are happy and relaxed. I have a sister who has dementia and I spend a great deal of time with her. I travel to Salisbury, MD to be with her as much as possible. When my mother was ill with cancer, of all my siblings, I lived the closest to my parents and had the honor to care for her in the last six months of her life. I am very comfortable with seniors and very much enjoy sharing time with them. I have had a part time pet sitting business for about eight years. I love all animals - but I’m allergic to cats. Paired with the dog sitting I house sit which is so much fun! I always leave a home better than I found it.

I am comfortable being strict when needed and setting clear boundaries, while still being patient, supportive, and understanding. I have experience with diaper changing, general childcare, and teaching, and I enjoy helping children learn through age- appropriate activities. I also have experience working with children with autism, which has strengthened my patience, communication skills, and ability to adapt to each child’s individual needs. I am currently a second grade teacher. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Morgan State University. I’ve been working with children in grades ranging from 1st -8th over the course of my program. Throughout my program I’ve learned the importance of letting kids creativity guide their learning and grow their minds. Outside of school, I’ve done summer long babysitting jobs for a few families. I’ve also been a tutor for the past two years for Literacy Brigage, working with kindergarten through 8th grade on building their overall literacy through the Orton Gillingham method.
