I'm from a small town in Southeastern Ohio, but I've lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for over 10 years now. At age ten I acquired my Red Cross Babysitting certificate and started babysitting younger kids. As a youth, I was on the swim team, studied multiple different disciplines of dance, was always in plays and helping with the local theater, tutoring at-risk youth, and I delivered newspapers 6 days a week in addition to occasional mowing, raking, and snow shoveling around town and also selling baked goods, saplings, and homemade crafts at the local f Farmers Market. I have been an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and also a swim instructor for the past 14+ years. I have saved hundreds of lives in my role as a lifeguard. In 2018 I was the Head Lifeguard of Sliding Rock in the Pisgah National Forest(Brevard, NC) and saved lives and was in charge of emergency situations, scheduling, and staffing from Memorial day to Labor day. A few years ago I was the aquatics manager at a country club. Years before all that I guarded a very deep 30 acre quarry (7 days a week with 7 other lifeguards) that hosted music festivals every weekend. I am very calm and cognizant in emergency situations and am the kind of nanny that tends to be cautious and preventative in regards to safety. I have spent many years gaining the trust of my students that are learning how to swim. I'm very good with the younger children and beginners; 2-4 year olds are my favorite to teach. I was a nanny for a family for all of 2021. I took care of three girls, ages 4, 7, and 11 years old, three days a week from 7am to 6pm. They also had 3 dogs, a cat, a bunny, a leopard gecko, and 16 chickens. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to continue to work for them after they moved over an hour away. I am still good friends with the family and go visit them at least once or twice a year, and occasionally still house and pet sit for them. I love children(so much so that I still don't have my own yet) and I love animals. I am very detail oriented and have a gift for maintaining many small details, as I've also worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years in addition to my 14+ years in aquatics with at least 9 of those years in aquatics management. Nannying is truly rewarding for me and provides me with skills I will use in my future. I'd love to get to know your family and hopefully get to be a small part of your journey of raising your amazing kids! 😊

“Madeline was wonderful with our 17 month old! She is very friendly, super engaging and gave updates throughout the evening. We felt our child was in great hands. We have already hired her again!!”

Hi there! I’m Stephanie. I’m 32 years old and I have over 10 years of childcare experience with a variety of ages, although I have minimal background with children under 6 months. I have a plethora of special needs experience, especially with ASD and ADHD. I have worked with over 100 families performing date night and backup care and have had multiple more consistent nanny families over the years. The latter included everything from meal prep, pickups and drop offs, to tutoring. My undergraduate education is in environmental studies. I took a tropical biology field quarter in Costa Rica during college and as a result, know basic conversational Spanish. Post graduation, I worked for a period of time as a teacher for an outdoor school and also seasonally in parks. After this time, I spent years working in IT as an analyst. I’m currently in a masters of data science program. In my spare time, I ride horses and am an amateur photographer. I’m also teaching myself Japanese. Additionally, I love tinkering with computers and playing video games just as much as I enjoy being outside! It brings me great joy sharing all of my passions with kiddos. I favor the Montessori method and enjoy doing interactive activities with children like tinker crates. I also love getting kids outside when possible. I have many cameras and sometimes bring them to share with kids when requested, indoors or outdoors! When it comes to parenting style, authoritative is what I lean towards. I focus on positive reinforcement where possible and creating a collaborative environment with kids so they feel part of the process i.e “would you rather brush your teeth in 2 minutes or 5 minutes?” Instead of simply telling them to brush their teeth. As well as, bringing fun activities the next time I come as a reward for good behavior that day. Due to my schooling, I am currently only accepting occasional jobs. Given I am a student and work with multiple families, I am not able to work with sick kids in most instances. PLEASE inform me if your child is ill, I will do the best I can to work with you. I also cannot take a job with only a few hours of notice. I need at least 24 hours.

Hi! My name is Emily! I lived in NYC for the past 9 years, but moved back to North Carolina last year to be closer to family after having my son. I have experience babysitting & nannying children from newborns to 12 years old, but am most experienced with infants and toddlers/pre-k. Outside of that, my background is in the arts, so I love to work most with kids who are interested in singing, dancing, acting, drawing, crafts, etc. but love learning about new things.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
