I am forty years old and currently live in Smithfield, NC. I have a BA in Public Policy Analysis from UNC Chapel Hill and have completed twenty-four hours toward a Masters degree in Public Administration at UNC Wilmington. Most recently, I worked as the Executive Director at Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation, where I did economic development, facilitated placemaking initiatives, planned events, and worked with community partners. I am currently taking care of my mother, who has cancer. I have been babysitting for more than twenty-five years, since the age of twelve. I was a YMCA Afterschool Counselor, Summer Camp Counselor, and Swimming Lessons Instructor during high school and in the summers when I was in college. In Chapel Hill, I often babysat for members of the Chapel Hill Mother's Club. I joined Stellar Sitters in Wilmington after I moved there in July of 2007, and have worked with them in the Raleigh area since the fall of 2008. I also volunteered in Grow Zone (the nursery) at Port City Community Church in Wilmington. I have significant experience with school-aged children through the YMCA, and significant experience with babies, toddlers, and school-aged children through babysitting. I regularly care for my niece, who was born April 4, 2011 and has brought so much joy into my life! I really love interacting with children -- there's not a lot in this world that is more special or rewarding than seeing the excitement on a child's face when they accomplish something for the first time or learn something new! Some of my favorite things to do while babysitting are playing pretend and getting to see wild imaginations at work, arts and crafts and playing outside. I can have fun getting dirty and making a mess, but I will make sure that everything is cleaned up as it was when we started. It is my hope to encourage a child to be honest, responsible, respectful and caring, and to do this in a way that your child is entertained, learning and safe. I am glad to help with homework, do crafts, prepare food, and provide transportation. In my free time, I am often at a softball field or in the stands at volleyball and basketball games cheering on my niece. I am also an active member of the Junior Women’s League of Smithfield and volunteer for many community organizations. I enjoy cheering on my Tar Heels, photography, outside activities, scuba diving, and traveling! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!

Did a great job of taking care of our daughter and cleaning up the toys and kitchen. Thank you!

I'm from a small town in Southeastern Ohio, but I've lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for over 10 years now. At age ten I acquired my Red Cross Babysitting certificate and started babysitting younger kids. As a youth, I was on the swim team, studied multiple different disciplines of dance, was always in plays and helping with the local theater, and I delivered newspapers 6 days a week in addition to occasional mowing, raking, and snow shoveling around town and also selling baked goods and homemade crafts at the local farmers market. I have been an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and also a swim instructor for the past thirteen years. I have saved hundreds of lives in my role as a lifeguard. In 2018 I was the Head Lifeguard of Sliding Rock in the Pisgah National Forest(Brevard, NC) and saved lives and was in charge of emergency situations, scheduling, and staffing from Memorial day to Labor day. I am very calm and cognizant in emergency situations and am the kind of nanny that is cautious in regards to safety. I have spent many years gaining the trust of my students that are learning how to swim. I'm very good with the younger children and beginners, especially 2-4 year olds. I was a nanny for a family for all of 2021. I took care of three girls, ages 4, 7, and 11 years old, three days a week from 7am to 6pm. They also had 3 dogs, a cat, a bunny, a leopard gecko, and 16 chickens. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to continue to work for them after they moved over an hour away from me. I am still good friends with the family and go visit them at least twice a year, and occasionally still house and pet sit for them. I love children(so much so that I still don't have my own yet) and I love animals. I am very detail oriented and have a gift for maintaining many small details, as I've also worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years in addition to my 13+ years in aquatics with 9 of those years in aquatic management. Nannying is rewarding for me and provides me with skills I will use in my future. I'd love to get to know your family and hopefully get to be a small part of your journey of raising your kids, happy and healthy! 😊

Madeline has been helping us take care of our 10-month-old son for the last month. Since the beginning she has been dependable and we are satisfied with her work. She is very punctual, prioritizes our son's safety (he's currently in his crawling stage), proactive, and has good attention to detail. She leaves everything cleaned and organized at the end of the day. Happy to hire her again.

Hi there! My name is Lindy! I'm a proud graduate of NC State University, where I studied elementary education. My passion for teaching and caring for children led me to babysit over the years and I've been doing it for ten years now! As a teacher, I understand the importance of being punctual, responsible, and good at following instructions. Your child's safety and well-being are always my top priorities, and I take my role as a caregiver very seriously. With my years of experience and educational background, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every babysitting session. Whether it's engaging in activities, helping with homework, or simply providing a safe and nurturing environment, I've got you covered. What sets me apart is my genuine love for children and my ability to create a fun and stimulating environment. I believe in fostering their curiosity and encouraging their growth in every possible way!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
