As a recent Sarah Lawrence graduate steeped in art and culture, I'd love to share that curiosity with kids — turning a rainy afternoon into an art studio on the kitchen table, or a walk to the corner store into a scavenger hunt through history and nature. I believe kids learn best outside, hands dirty, following whatever's caught their attention — a beetle on the sidewalk, a cloud shaped like a dragon, the story behind a statue in the park. I've babysat for family and friends for years, bringing genuine curiosity rather than a checklist of activities. I'm CPR and First Aid certified, so safety's never an afterthought, but I leave room for spontaneity — fort-building, bedtime, and everything between. I show up present and invested, because the best part of this work is watching a kid's face when they've made or discovered something new.

Hi! My name is Amanda, I’m 27 and live in NYC. I’ve been babysitting since high school and have experience with kids of all ages, including a 3-month-old. I’ve watched up to four kids at once and have nannied for two boys and two elementary school girls. My experience includes school pickup, helping with daily routines and activities, and spending time with the kids throughout the day. I’m always up for anything from playing sports to doing arts and crafts, playing board games, or joining in on whatever they’re interested in. I’m also happy to help with homework, cooking, running errands, or anything else needed around the house. Outside of childcare, I enjoy running, tennis, soccer, reading, watching movies, cooking, and baking.

I recently moved back to NYC and I’m currently looking for a nanny position. I’m an experienced nanny with several years of childcare experience in Brazil and the U.S., caring for children from infants to school-age. I have a background in Psychology, which has helped me better understand child development, emotional needs, communication, and positive guidance. I’ve also volunteered with children with special needs, which taught me even more patience, empathy, and how to adapt to each child’s individual needs. I’m CPR and First Aid certified, a confident driver with a clean record, an excellent swimmer, pet-friendly, and comfortable helping with meal preparation, children’s routines, errands, light housekeeping, and household organization. As the oldest of 10, I grew up caring for babies and naturally became the “second mom.” I’m now a first-time mom to my 10 week old, so I’m very experienced with newborn care like feeding, diapering, soothing, and sleep routines. I understand infant cues and create a calm, nurturing environment. I bring my baby along, offering a built-in, age appropriate playmate and a social, home like setting. I also have 9 years of pet care experience, including work as a surgical veterinary technician. Your baby will be in patient, loving, and capable hands.

I am a prospective medical student with a masters in biomedical sciences and about 5 years of healthcare experience working with patients of all ages and demographics. I’ve done rotations at hospitals that focused on working with children with developmental disabilities and as a result have developed the skill set to handle children with care, encourage growth and provide a safe, healthy and productive space for them. I have my own little rescue kitty named Olive that made her place in our family but I love all kinds of animals and look forward to adopting a dog soon! Outside of my work, I am a very outdoorsy person, often swimming, biking, running and hiking on the weekends- my coolest hike has been to Machu Picchu, Peru. I’m able to work with children and pets of all energy levels and would love to indulge them in activities if required. In the home, I am more than willing to complete tasks related to caring for the children and pets.
