Hi! I’m Ja’Lea, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that caring for children is something I genuinely love. I’ve been a preschool teacher assistant for the past three years, and every day reminds me why I chose this field. Watching children learn new skills, celebrate little accomplishments, and grow into their own personalities is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I truly can’t imagine doing anything else. In addition to working in a preschool, I also work as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. I don’t believe in simply “watching” children; I enjoy interacting with them, helping them learn, and making sure they have a great time while they’re in my care. Over the years, I’ve gained experience caring for children with a variety of needs and daily routines. I’m comfortable with diaper changes, bathing or shower assistance, helping with brushing teeth, meal and snack times, and keeping children engaged throughout the day. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, clear communication, and creating a structured environment where children feel comfortable and confident. Hey there my name is Blake! I’m a 24 year old who’s been living in New York Bronx with a roommate for about a year now. I was raised in the Ivory Coast which makes me fluently bilingual in French. I’ve had a lot more experiences with caregiving than childcare before, and would like to further expand my experience with kids because they are a lot more fun and jovial and very heartfelt little creatures. They also have a lot more energy, which I do too. I was a nanny for about over year before moving to New York, and It was amazing to me, to see how much you can learn from those you’re meant to be teaching. It was a little boy of the age of 6 who had a lot of curiosity. This was actually particular to him, as he was a very smart boy. My time with him was mostly play, feeding, staying home, shower, going to the park, and whatever activities we could find to do. Music, dancing and lots of jumps were very common activities to him. It seemed to be very stimulating, or sometimes very heartfelt which was either funny to watch or cool to live in general.
