I love working with kids and have been doing so since college, where I was an America Reads tutor for NYC public schools, working in elementary/middle school settings (acted as a teacher assistant essentially). After college, I worked as a paraprofessional for the Jersey City board of Ed for two years, working with middle school-aged special needs students. I then transitioned to being an EMT for four years, working for different medical transport companies dealing with primarily elderly patients. Upon leaving EMS, I became a behavior technician providing in-home services to autistic children after-school while working during the day as a paraprofessional in a special needs elementary/middle school. I recently left both jobs to work full-time at a clinic for autistic children as a behavior technician.
