My educational background includes studying Psychology at Felician University, where I developed a strong interest in child development, behavior, and supporting individuals with different learning needs. I am continuing to pursue my goal of completing my education and becoming a certified Special Education teacher, with a particular interest in working with neurodivergent children. Since August 2022, I have worked as a Teacher Assistant with the Plainfield Public School District in New Jersey. Being a parent has taught me patience, compassion, advocacy, and the importance of celebrating every child's individual progress. It is one of the reasons I chose to dedicate my career to working with children who need additional support. As a special ed teacher, I have worked with many children with special needs helping them with activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, etc) behavioral and communication adaptations. I can take children to school or other appointments, as well as assist them with homework. I live on the Upper East side and am available to work twice a week. I am allergic to animals so I cannot work in households with pets. I do not speak Spanish. I consider myself to be an organized, compassionate, patient and trustworthy person.
