I am a dedicated and compassionate education professional with experience working with children and students with disabilities. My educational background includes studying Psychology at Felician University, where I developed a strong interest in child development, behavior, and supporting individuals with different learning needs. I am continuing to pursue my goal of completing my education and becoming a certified Special Education teacher, with a particular interest in working with neurodivergent children. Since August 2022, I have worked as a Teacher Assistant with the Plainfield Public School District in New Jersey. In this role, I provide academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students with diverse needs. I work closely with teachers and other school professionals to help students participate in classroom activities, follow routines, develop independence, and feel safe and supported in their learning environment. My experience has given me the opportunity to work with students who require additional patience, structure, communication, and individualized support. My passion for working with children with special needs is also deeply personal. I am a parent of children with special needs, and my own experiences have given me a deeper understanding of the challenges, strengths, and unique needs that children and their families may experience. Being a parent has taught me patience, compassion, advocacy, and the importance of celebrating every child's individual progress.
