Hi, I'm Keira! I'm a writer and kindergarten afterschool teacher, excited to find a family with children between 4 and 11. My first childcare job was in middle school, as an assistant instructor at my martial arts studio. I assisted younger kids and even adults, but my favorite class each afternoon was the "Tiny Tigers" - a group of kids between 4 and 6 years old. While most of the class consisted of basic exercise and games, we strove to teach kids confidence and character - and I learned a lot about how to manage a group of rambunctious kids. I majored in Psychology at Arcadia University and interned at Moonstone Preschool in Center City, where I rediscovered my love for early childhood education. Now, I've been working in a Philadelphia kindergarten for nearly four years. I adore my class because there's never a dull moment with my kids and afterschool gives me a chance to provide enrichment outside the school day. Throughout my job, I've organized supplementary writing lessons, led my class through art and science projects, and even taught them how to sew and crochet!
