Hi! My name is Ella, and I’m a college student who genuinely loves working with kids. I have several years of experience working with children through summer camp, youth programs, and babysitting. Most recently, I have been working as a counselor (for four years) and intern at The Nature Place Day Camp, where I spent my summer caring for children, leading activities, managing groups, and creating a fun and supportive environment. I’ve also worked in leadership roles where I helped plan activities and support other counselors.
I’m comfortable working with a variety of ages and enjoy getting to know each child and their individual personality and interests. I love creative, hands-on activities, especially art, crafts, drawing, painting, and making things. I also love being outside and can keep kids entertained with games, nature exploration, and other activities. I’m happy to help with homework and can adapt activities depending on what a child enjoys.
I’m responsible, patient, creative, and dependable. I understand that every family has different routines and expectations, and I’m happy to follow whatever works best for your household. My experience at camp has also taught me how to handle busy situations, work through challenges, work with all kids from all background, and make sure children feel safe, included, and cared for.
I also have experience caring for animals. Through my work as an animal caretaker at a nature center, I’ve gained experience around different animals and am comfortable helping with feeding, walking, playing, and following individual pet routines. I’m comfortable around both large animals and pets that shed.
In addition to childcare and pet care, I’m happy to help with light household tasks such as tidying up after children, organizing play areas, laundry, and other small errands or chores related to childcare. My goal is to make things a little easier for families while making sure their children are having a fun, safe, and positive experience.
