Hi, I’m Ernestine! I’m a dedicated mom and passionate caregiver with a background in human services and a deep love for supporting children and families. I’m currently a full-time student working toward my bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Walden University, with the goal of one day opening my own child welfare agency.
My experience with children runs deep, I grew up in a home where my parents fostered kids in need, and I’ve spent years caring for children of all ages, including my own daughter, Gabriella (“Gabby”), who is 17 months old. She’s a joyful, social little girl who loves music, books, and making new friends. As a single parent, I may bring Gabby along to babysitting jobs, which often adds a built-in playmate for little ones!
In addition to being CPR-trained, I have professional experience supporting children with special needs, particularly those with autism. I previously worked as an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) technician and as a Direct Support Professional, which gave me valuable skills in patience, communication, and creating safe, supportive environments for kids of all abilities.
Families describe me as patient, nurturing, and dependable. I love creating fun and engaging activities that keep kids happy while also supporting their learning and development. Whether it’s playtime, storytime, or helping with routines, I strive to create a safe, warm, and loving environment for every child I care for.
Currently, I’m happy to welcome families to drop off their little ones at my home until I secure reliable transportation. My home is safe, child-friendly, and designed with little learners in mind. Please note that I am allergic to cats, so I am best suited to cat-free environments.
