Glorious Day! I am Atmavidya "Adryn" Mari. I am the eldest of eight siblings and the eldest of my extended family on my mother's side. I have been raised with many children and have supported the upbringing of all my siblings. Being surrounded by children keeps one young and fun at heart. I am short in stature, so I am always on a child's level. I enjoy allowing children exploratory experiences as their minds are young and shaped by engagement. I tend to give children parameters, rather than hard rules. Letting them fill in the gaps is important for their mental and emotional growth. I love reading, taking nature walks, playing in the garden, visiting the farmer's market, meal prepping, experimental food creations, painting, coloring, and laying in the grass looking at the sky. These are all activities I am open to sharing with your child(ren). I am currently caregiving for my grandmother whose mind is experiencing Alzheimers. I share this experience with my mother. I mainly oversee meal preparation (shopping, prepping, and cooking) and spiritual study. We speak a great deal about God and keeping our spiritual health strong while enjoying plant-centered meals. I am a strict vegetarian, so I am unable to feed or cook with meat, eggs, or fish. Yet, my child-friendly cooking skills are on point - Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, marinara with hidden vegetables, just to name a few. In the past, I have taught three years of gardening classes at Durham Elementary for every grade level, including pre-K. It was a gift to witness the enthusiasm and wonder of young minds experiencing food grown through their influence. I tutored in English and facilitated an after school program at a middle school in Northern California. I am a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and am currently working on a degree program in Spiritual Metaphysics. I have been using my Ayurvedic degree to support families in realigning their kitchens to promote a sattvic lifestyle because how we engage with food overflows into every aspect of our lives. The kitchen is the center for bringing in homegrown herbs, local produce, and for cultivating a positive mindset through interactions with food and people. One trait about me is that I genuinely find joy in caring for others. I love to be able to help others out in any way I can. I have taken care of kids within the ages of 4-13 plenty of times. This has been through paid jobs such as babysitting, or simply watching a child at an adult event. I care deeply for the safety and well being of all kids, especially the ones that are in my care. I have previously worked at a fast food restaurant, and one of my top priorities was that all child customer had coloring books and hats to ensure they were happy and satisfied. Another previous job of mine was at a veterinary hospital as a boarding associate. It was my job to take care of all the cats and dogs in boarding. This included walking, feeding, administering medication, and cleaning for pets. I have also done multiple jobs as pet sitting. I genuinely love caring for and bringing joy to pets and kids while their parents are away.
