I was most recently was a lead teacher in west austin, and before that an Assistant Director of a preschool in downtown Austin. I have many years as a career/professional household manager & nanny. This is also true in regards to my extensive education background including lead teacher positions for a variety of age ranges in both play based platforms, Montessori philosophy in private schools and in the home as well. I grew up in a Montessori home, with a mom who is a director of her own Montessori school for over 45 years. I have nannied for multiple families of reputable surgeons, was a lead teacher at The Little Gym for children's gymnastics classes, I worked as a health educator for community events and onsite development at a local hospital created children's museum, & proudly developed a fine art program in my hometown for the same hospitals Pediatric and Peds Hem/ Oncology unit. Here I worked w/ a team to develop, implement, and train volunteers to apply the program through the Child Life Specialists which resulted in a wonderful combination applying both my fine art and creative arts specialties, my extensive child development trainings, & team management skill sets. I love advocating for children & animals, and believe that every child has a voice and deserves to be heard & connected with. I have worked with sensory and special needs. I have thousands of hours of child-development professional training hours and ongoing extended education in the field. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and babysitting, especially for infants and toddlers. I recently worked at a daycare so I have CPR and First Aid certifications. I've been happily working in childcare for over 10 years. I took a break to pursue a full time research position with the Child Mind Institute, and found that studying children really made me miss working directly with them and their families. I truly enjoy being a safe, stable, supportive addition to a child's life and family.
