Alyssa Renton
$22 per hour for 1 child

Hello! My name is Alyssa, I love kids and animals, and am a mother to two beautiful kids, and one handsome cat. I understand how difficult it is to coordinate schedules and find care for the ones who need us most; you need something that not only fits your budget, but also care that meets the level of attentiveness and thoughtfulness that your kids and fur-babies deserve! If you are not happy with public childcare or kennels with large class sizes (or, for those utilizing animal care, cages; ew) and the hefty price for subpar conditions, I get it! You want care that feels like home, feels like family, and takes into consideration the enrichment aspect of your loved one's day. I strive to encourage a growth mindset, connect with nature/get sunshine and fresh air, establish healthy habits, and promote critical thinking in children. For pets, I lead with a warm disposition and exercise gentle yet firm assertiveness where necessary, and genuinely enjoy hanging out with animals; most experience with dogs and cats, but am open to other animals with detailed directions. I am punctual, personable, and remain flexible and graceful under changing conditions. I am a good choice for those who need last-minute care, care during vacations or emergencies, care that fills the gaps between work and school (including transportation), or care on an occasional/semi-regular basis. I do strive to incorporate ways to provide enrichment, learning, and engaging activities as someone who personally has seen and benefited from allowing my own kids to participate in classes, co-ops, and homeschooling. As someone who also felt the same growing pains through motherhood of coordinating schedules, finances, and proper nurturing for my loved ones, I want to be a solution for other families who face the same pressures.

Beverly Kent
$23 per hour for 1 child

I raised 5 of my own children, 4 boys and 1 daughter, from birth to adulthood. I also have 2 granddaughters 5 and 7 years old. I have lots of patience, tons of energy for many activities children love to do, and a lot of love and caring to give. Children are such a blessing and a great joy. I will always carry out your wishes for your family because you have sacrificed, and your role and wishes are very important. I do really love animals, and I have cared for two dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds, that were part of my family. If someone asked me what I would do, if their child did not do as they were asked while I was caring for them on a babysitting job, I would tell them… I would like to have had a conversation with the parents before they left their children in my care, as to how they wanted me to handle that situation. I would like to follow what the parents wishes are, because you cannot make a child do anything. although you can make the parents happy by following their wishes. I have had two previous jobs working with seniors in the past. The first one was mostly companionship, but I also cooked, took her to appointments and to run errands, we would also go walking for a little exercise, and to keep her agile and able to have balance and strength. She had great stories that I would listen to, and we would connect over them… she was a great lady. The second job was working with a gentleman who needed driving to appointments, grocery stores and to the gym. He had macular degeneration so he could see, but not enough to drive. I was very patient and understanding with him, as he did suffer from some age related dementia (he was in his early 90s). I would help him with household cleaning, chores and companionship, he liked to share his life over lunch that I would prepare for him. I also helped him with his finances and writing checks to pay his bills. He was very spunky and entertaining, and he liked to talk about his life when his wife was still alive.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
