Hi! My name is Raeani or Rae for short. I’ve been taking care of kids since I was 10 years old and currently working as a teacher assistant. As an oldest sister, I’ve been around kids my entire life. I’ve always enjoyed creating a fun, safe space for the little ones. I was the neighborhood babysitter for years, and since moving away I’ve been looking to find more opportunities to help! As a babysitter, my duties were making sure homework and clothes were ready for school the next day, staying on time with a bedtime/routine, meals were prepared and planned for breakfast, lunch, and or dinner, and coming up with new activities to do. As an assistant teacher, my role is to take over once the lead leaves. During my day, I prepare the snacks, put them down for nap time, change diapers, learn and teach the age appropriate curriculums, and send in live updates to the parents. I have also been a dog sitter/grown up with pets. My longest job was 13 months while the owner was out of state.

Experience: I have been caregiving and caretaking since I was 12 years old. It began when my dad would drop us off at his friend’s daycare center and I remember helping prepare food, assisting with art projects, changing of diapers and connecting with the little ones. I have previous work history with SitterTree based out of Georgia and I worked there before the COVID quarantine, it was truly such a special time. I felt a special connection to each family I worked for and we were all sad when we had to part ways. One of my favorite stories about my time with SitterTree was how a family nicknamed me “Poppy” because I would bring a suitcase of art supplies and toys to play with the kids and it reminded them of Mary Poppins. Fun Facts: I am the eldest of 5 kids and my youngest sibling is 16. I am a multimedia artist and I love connecting with children through art/creative projects. I also am a former D1 Rugby player and former youth coach so I love to stay active and do my best to keep kids off of screens while we are together. I am an “animal whisperer” and tend to forge special bonds with animals of all shapes and sizes. I have a 7 year old kitty named Aspen.
