The wonderful thing about loving your job is it’s easy to show up with a smile and a positive attitude. I really like working in the care sector and especially enjoy watching children grow, learn and become individuals. I live alone so I have flexibility with my schedule. I do have a cat if you are allergic. I am hoping to focus on childcare for all ages. In the past 14yrs I’ve cared for, and spent time with, children between the ages of 4 and 17, between 1[removed] I had experience with infants and toddlers. My niece and nephews are my greatest joy. One nephew is neurodivergent and my niece is special needs, I only mention this because it taught me patience, healthy coping skills and communication. Practically speaking, what I can offer: 1) I can cook and bake, focusing on vegetable heavy dishes. If you have a craving for spanakopita or NY cheesecake? I can provide. 2) I’m a very safe driver with a reliable car. I haven’t had a car accident or traffic ticket since 1995. I’m more than happy to drive to do errands, pick up groceries, do school pick ups & drop offs and trips to the soccer field. 3) I’m a VERY creative person! I have a ton of arts and crafts supplies that I can bring for everything from watercolors to polymer clay sculpture. I’m also good with stories, silly songs and funny dances. 4) I am happy to help with a little homework (familiar with Montessori teaching practices) playing games, reading nighttime stories and TALKING with children to develop vocabulary and communication. I should mention I’m open to being a support person for child birthday parties or group outings. I’d be thrilled to do elder care and am very respectful, soft spoken when appropriate, and would be just as happy playing cribbage as reading whatever is of interest to my client. I honesty enjoy looking at family photo albums and listening to THEIR stories. I volunteered for 11 years at a care facility painting the ladies nails and reading to male and female clients. Have experience working with clients who have dementia. And finally I can do cat and small dog sitting duties. I have had cats living with me for decades, and few dogs too. I’m very pet friendly. Hello, I'm a single mom who has raised 2 sons that now have families of their own. I have 3 grandchildren, and it's what pushed me to make a career move after 15 years at a sales job that I was unhappy in. I started watching my grandson every Saturday when he was just 6 weeks, and it was such a joy that I decided to take the plunge and market myself as a Nanny. I have worked for families with infants & toddlers, starting at 6 weeks. I thoroughly love what I do and have excellent references. I am open to adventures outside the home, as well as transportation to & from school or other activities. I strongly believe in the benefits of reading & music. I am also a huge nature lover, and try to be outside any chance I get, trail walking, or go to a nearby park. Inside crafts and reading can be fun if the weather doesn't permit, and building forts or dancing to music always lifts the spirits! Music is life! I completed my certification in the "Child Care Aware" program which is offered thru the military. It involves a 6 week in depth course focusing on beyond the basics CPR & first aide for infants and toddlers. After completing the online portion there was a hands-On class to show what you had learned. I have several great references I've posted, and any of them would be happy to speak with you. My ideal job would be full-time and permanent, but I'm open to partime that has the potential to grow towards full time. I'm open to performing a variety of different duties in order to make life a little less stressful for you, and I also understand that the safety and development of your child is priority. I have a dependable vehicle that can accommodate child's car seats, and I have a clean driving record as well as state and federal background check I can share.
