# Part-Time Family Assistant / Childcare Sitter We’re looking for a reliable, caring and flexible person to provide part-time childcare and occasional family assistance. This is not a full-time nanny role. Our main need is dependable daycare drop-off and pickup, with additional weekday and weekend hours as needed. Morning coverage is typically **7:30–8:00 AM**. You would meet our child at home and walk them to daycare, about an **8-minute walk from our building**. Evening pickup is around **5:30 PM**. You would pick up our child, walk them home and provide care until Mom arrives or help is no longer needed, usually until about **7:30–8:00 PM**. Evening care may include supervision, play, simple meals or snacks, light food prep and helping with the normal evening routine. We may also need longer blocks of help on weekends. Weekday and weekend flexibility is important, and schedules will be coordinated in advance whenever possible. Dad will not be regularly present in the home during shifts. He will manage scheduling, hours, availability and payment. Mom is currently pregnant and will provide day-to-day instructions regarding childcare and any additional help she may need. Childcare is the priority. Additional duties may occasionally include helping Mom carry or lift items, giving her a ride to the subway or another destination, running errands, grocery or household pickups, light food prep and light help around the home. This is not a housekeeping position. Applicants must have their own reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, current insurance and a safe driving record. You should be comfortable driving in Brooklyn and willing to occasionally drive into Manhattan. Experience with young children is important. **CPR and First Aid certification are strongly preferred.** HHA, PCA, CNA or similar caregiving experience or certification is a plus. **Compensation: $30–$32/hour depending on experience.** **Morning daycare drop-off, 7:30–8:00 AM: $40 flat.** **Weekday afternoon/evening shifts: 2-hour minimum.** **Weekend shifts: 3-hour minimum.** Approved work-related mileage, tolls and parking are reimbursed separately. We’re looking for someone dependable, punctual, communicative, patient and comfortable becoming a trusted extra set of hands for our family.
