Afterschool Sitter – Part-Time We are looking for a caring, reliable, and responsible afterschool sitter for two school-aged children. This is a great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate who enjoys working with children and is interested in education, child development, or a related field. Schedule Monday through Thursday Afterschool hours No care required on bank holidays Location: Arverne Queens Responsibilities Pick up/meet children after school as needed Provide a safe, caring, and engaging environment Assist one child with homework and schoolwork Provide homework support and encouragement for the second child as appropriate Provide toileting assistance to one child with autism Support routines, transitions, and age-appropriate activities Communicate with parents regarding homework, routines, and any concerns Maintain a positive, patient, and supportive approach with both children Qualifications Experience working with school-aged children preferred Experience with children with autism or other special needs is a plus Comfortable providing toileting assistance Patient, dependable, attentive, and compassionate Able to provide homework help and encourage independent learning Strong communication and organizational skills Ideal Candidate This position would be especially well suited to a college student or recent graduate majoring in: Early Childhood/Early Education Special Education Elementary/K–5 Education Psychology Child Development Social Work A related field We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in working with children and would enjoy building a positive, supportive relationship with both children. Relevant coursework, volunteer experience, student teaching, babysitting, nannying, or classroom experience are all welcome.Nanny job details
