About this nanny job

We are looking for a warm, reliable, and engaging part-time nanny to build a long-term relationship with our family and our 14-month-old son. We are initially looking for one consistent day per week beginning around October, with some flexibility in choosing the day based on mutual availability. Our childcare needs are expected to increase to approximately 2–3 consistent days per week around May–July 2027. We are hoping to find someone who is interested in growing with our family rather than simply filling a short-term position. Our biggest priority is finding the right person and giving our son plenty of time to develop a genuine, comfortable relationship with his caregiver. This will be his first experience with a regular caregiver outside of family, so we plan to introduce the relationship gradually through paid visits while we are home before transitioning into independent care. We use a gentle, responsive parenting approach and value patience, connection, age-appropriate boundaries, and consistency. Our son is active and curious, and we encourage lots of play, reading, outdoor time, and age-appropriate exploration with very limited screen time. We would love someone who genuinely enjoys interacting and playing with toddlers rather than simply supervising. Our nanny's primary responsibility will be caring for our son. We do not expect general housekeeping. We simply ask that meals, toys, and activities are cleaned up as you go throughout the day. We are looking for someone with strong toddler childcare experience, excellent references, reliable transportation, and current infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. We value reliability, open communication, good judgment, and limited personal phone use while our son is awake. Most importantly, we hope to find someone our son adores and who genuinely enjoys being part of his life. With our family growing, we would love for his nanny to become a familiar, trusted, and consistent person in his world for the long term.
