About this nanny job
Looking for an incredibly kind, patient, responsible person to care for my 4-year-old son with disabilities. Special needs experience is a plus but we are open to someone willing to learn. The role involves picking my son up from preschool each day and taking him on neighborhood adventures: playgrounds, parks, play spaces, Target, Chuck-e-Cheese, the children’s museum, etc. Playing at our apartment is also fine. Ideal applicant is comfortable taking him on the bus to get around. My son loves Bluey and baby shark, music, sensory play, and being outdoors. He takes a while to warm up, but his trusted people receive lots of affection. He walks but needs help with steps and climbing, and he fatigues quickly. He is nonspeaking and uses a communication device (iPad). He also has epilepsy and needs special “rescue” medication if he has a prolonged seizure. The ideal candidate is very active, can comfortably lift 40 pounds, and likes to be outdoors. This role involves walking around the neighborhood rain or shine 5 days a week. Other things to know: - Pay is competitive and hours guaranteed. PTO is included. - You will be asked to prepare simple meals and snacks for him when possible, such as quesadillas, pancakes, and muffins. - Mom works from home most days, but is out of your way on another floor of the apartment. - Job involves picking up older sibling from school one day a week but nothing else. - Must love dogs as we have a sweet mixed breed rescue dog. - CPR certification required. - Must be fully vaccinated and willing to get flu and covid shots each year as child is immunocompromised. - We live near Barclays center in Brooklyn where there is access to many subway lines.Nanny job details
