We’re looking for a reliable, warm, engaged after-school nanny/family helper for our 10-year-old daughter. This is a consistent Monday–Friday position, approximately 3:15–6:00 PM (12–15 hours/week), with opportunities for additional hours. Our daughter is social, talkative, funny and pretty independent. We’re less interested in someone who simply “watches” her and more interested in finding someone who genuinely enjoys older kids — talking about her day, helping with homework when needed, making a snack, playing a game, and being a steady, positive part of her afternoon. Her schedule varies somewhat with sports. Some days you’ll pick her up from school around 3:10 PM; on volleyball days, pickup may be around 4:45 PM. We’re looking for someone consistently available during the full afternoon window even when the routine changes. On later pickup days, we’d love some help getting the evening moving — preparing her snack, helping with her laundry, unloading the dishwasher or light tidying. We are not looking for a housekeeper, just someone comfortable pitching in with the everyday things that keep a family running. We also need full-day care on school breaks and staff-development days when possible, plus occasional evenings. Our next major need is fall break, October 7–12, when we’ll need full-day care on weekdays. Because school pickup and activities are part of the role, you’ll need reliable transportation and a clean driving record. We also have dogs and cats, so being comfortable around pets is important. Most importantly, we’d love to find someone who wants a consistent, long-term relationship with our family and can become a familiar, trusted part of our daughter’s routine.
