About this nanny job

We’re looking for a dependable, caring, and engaging nanny for our toddler in our home. Start date is TBD. Our regular schedule will be Thursday–Monday, typically 8am–4pm, with occasional extended hours. Mom works from home during these hours but will be working and needs someone comfortable independently taking the lead on our daughter’s care. We’re looking for someone patient, attentive, reliable, and a great communicator. It’s important to us to have someone who is willing to listen, ask questions, understand our concerns, and keep us updated throughout the day. Our daughter has a history of febrile seizures, so you must be comfortable with this and willing to learn and follow our plan if one occurs. CPR/First Aid certification is strongly preferred. ** Daily care includes diaper changes, preparing and serving meals/snacks (we provide all food), and putting her down for at least one nap. We’d love someone who will genuinely interact with her through reading, age-appropriate learning, creative play, and outdoor time. She’s an active toddler who is walking and exploring, so we’d like someone who will encourage movement, play, and continued age-appropriate development. ** We’d also like someone willing to help with light household tasks related specifically to our daughter. This includes cleaning up after her meals and snacks, picking up toys and play areas, and generally tidying up after activities from the day. We are not expecting general house cleaning. We aren’t looking for someone who will put her in front of the TV all day, but we also aren’t a strict Montessori or completely screen-free household. We prefer a normal, healthy balance of learning, interactive and independent play, outdoor activities, occasional screen time, and simply letting her be a kid! ** You should be comfortable lifting/carrying at least 30 lbs and using stairs, as we live on the basement level of a family member’s home. We are a big animal household! We have 4 large dogs and 1 cat, so being comfortable around animals is a must. We also keep pet lizards and snakes in the home. No care for the reptiles is required — we just want applicants to know they are present in the home. Ultimately, we’re hoping to find someone our daughter enjoys spending time with and who can become a reliable, trusted part of her routine.
