About this nanny job

We are looking for a warm, reliable, patient and experienced after-school nanny for our two sons, ages 5 and 7. Both children attend Open Connections, and school ends at approximately 2:30 PM. We are looking for someone who can provide consistent after-school care while my wife and I are working. Our 5-year-old has ADHD and benefits from a caregiver who understands impulsivity, emotional regulation, transitions, attention difficulties and behavioral challenges associated with ADHD. We are specifically looking for someone who has real-world experience working with young children with ADHD or other neurodivergent needs — not simply general babysitting experience. The ideal caregiver will be: Patient, calm and nurturing Experienced working with children with ADHD Comfortable handling impulsivity, big emotions and challenging transitions Able to provide structure, consistency and clear expectations Positive and encouraging rather than punitive Skilled at redirecting behavior and helping children regulate Comfortable managing two children at different developmental stages Reliable and dependable for consistent after-school care Comfortable communicating with parents about how the afternoon went Ideally experienced with school pickup and transporting children safely Responsibilities would include school pickup around 2:30 PM, bringing the boys home, providing a structured and engaging afternoon, helping with snacks/homework, play and activities, and maintaining a safe and positive environment until we finish work. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted part of our family’s routine. The most important thing to us is finding someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands that our son with ADHD may need a little more patience, structure and support than a typical 5-year-old. Experience with ADHD, special education, behavioral support, occupational therapy, early childhood education, or similar backgrounds is highly valued.
