I’m looking for an experienced cook or private chef for a consistent weekly role in our home. The schedule would be once a week, ideally Monday or Tuesday, with approximately 15 hours of work per week including menu planning, grocery shopping, cooking/prep and kitchen cleanup. I’m looking for someone who can prepare a range of fresh, healthy, flavorful food for a family household. This would include meals for adults and a young child, along with snacks and convenient grab-and-go options such as smoothie and salad prep, cut fruit and vegetables, and other prepared items for the week. We would align in advance on the menu and grocery needs for the week. From there, you would handle the grocery shopping, come to our home to cook and prep, and leave the kitchen clean at the end of the day. The right person will be comfortable planning a weekly menu, working collaboratively in a home kitchen, managing their time well and making thoughtful use of ingredients. We’re looking for someone who can learn our preferences over time and bring ideas and recommendations to the weekly menu, while also being responsive to what the family wants that week. Professional cooking, private-chef, catering or comparable food-service experience is required. Professional references will be checked, and a background check will be required. Reliable transportation is also required. I’m looking for someone experienced, organized, reliable and interested in a consistent, long-term arrangement.
