Full-Time Nanny / Caregiver / Family help – Palo Alto We are a warm, active family in Palo Alto looking for someone who can work a split shift and travel at times with our family, supporting our 10-year-old daughter. She is a bright, social, funny and active 5th grader who speaks two languages and loves reading, swimming, horseback riding, adaptive skiing, games, friends and being part of everything! She has some physical mobility needs, uses a walker and canes, and needs hands-on assistance with some daily activities. We are looking for someone positive, energetic, patient, reliable and proactive who will encourage her independence while also knowing when she needs a helping hand. Most importantly, we want someone who will have fun with her and allow her to simply be a 10-year-old kid. The position is approximately 35–45 hours per week and generally includes morning and after-school coverage, with additional Family Assistant hours during the day. Responsibilities include: • Morning and after-school routines • Dressing, toileting, bathing and personal care as needed • Assistance with walking and mobility • Stretching, strengthening and carrying over therapy activities at home • Driving to school, therapies and activities • Homework and after-school activities • Simple meals and snacks • Children's laundry, organization and tidying • Light Family Assistant duties and errands • Occasional help with our other child • Occasional evenings/weekends • Travel for medical therapies and family trips, including Los Angeles and occasional international travel PT/OT, special-needs, pediatric or caregiving experience would be amazing, but you absolutely do not need to be an OT or PT. We are equally interested in someone who is genuinely excited to learn from her therapy team and incorporate recommended goals and activities into everyday life. You must be comfortable with respectful hands-on personal care and mobility assistance and have a valid driver's license and safe driving record. Reliability is extremely important, particularly for early mornings. You must also be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and able and willing to travel domestically and internationally. We hope to find someone looking for a long-term position who can become an important part of our daughter's team and our family. Our goal is simple: help her build independence, confidence and responsibility while participating fully in school, friendships, activities and family life.
