Looking for a Mother’s Helper / Family Assistant + Occasional Babysitters in Burlingame Hi neighbors! I’m a working mom of two kids, ages 7 and 9, looking to build a small circle of warm, reliable people our family can get to know and count on for ongoing help and occasional babysitting. For regular support, I’m hoping for roughly two afternoons a week, about 2–3 hours at a time, generally no more than 5 hours total per week. Our needs shift with school and sports schedules, so some flexibility each season would be wonderful, with scheduling agreed on in advance. For example, Mondays currently involve school pickup at 3 p.m. and soccer practice from 3:30–5 p.m. Having someone handle pickup, take the kids to practice, stay with them, and bring them home would give me a much-needed uninterrupted stretch of work. Thursdays may be another afternoon where we could use support. Depending on the day, help could include: • School pickup and transportation to activities. • Keeping the kids engaged and on track with homework and routines while I work from home. • Simple snacks or meal prep and light cleanup after the kids. • Occasional errands, such as grabbing a grocery item or dropping off and picking up tailoring. • Helping move everyday household and personal to-dos along, like organizing paperwork or scheduling appointments. These are examples of what we might prioritize on a given day—not a list to squeeze into every visit! I’d also love to connect with people interested in occasional evening or daytime babysitting, even if regular afternoon availability isn’t a fit. My goal is to build familiarity and trust with a few people so my kids feel comfortable and safe, and we have support when someone isn’t available. We’d love someone patient, dependable, comfortable with a dog and cat, and happy to take initiative once they learn our routines. Experience with kids who benefit from extra structure and gentle reminders is a plus. For pickup and activity support, a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable, insured transportation are needed. This is a small, paid role.
