About this nanny job

Hi! We’re looking for a warm, reliable, and engaging respite caregiver for our wonderful 10-year-old daughter, Indiana. She’s autistic, creative, funny, curious, and full of personality. She thrives with caregivers who are patient, playful, flexible, and comfortable meeting kids where they are. This position is for approximately 5–20 hours per week, or about 35–45 hours per month, with a schedule that may vary from week to week. This could include afternoons, evenings, occasional weekends, outings, and time spent enjoying activities at home. We’re hoping to find someone who likes flexible, part-time work rather than a fixed weekly schedule. Experience with neurodivergent children is strongly preferred, including autism, ADHD, sensory differences, executive functioning needs, or similar experience. We especially value caregivers who understand regulation, respect autonomy, communicate calmly, and focus on building connection. A reliable car, valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and comfort driving a child are required. Driving Indiana to nearby activities would be part of some shifts. Our ideal caregiver is dependable, energetic, kind, responsible, and genuinely enjoys spending time with kids. Activities might include crafts, games, imaginative play, outings, helping with routines, accompanying Indiana to activities, or simply hanging out and having a fun, safe afternoon together. We also have two doodles, three walkable coffee shops, a park, a thrift store, and plenty of nearby places to explore. We’re hoping to find someone who could become a trusted, consistent part of our family’s support team. We’re starting by meeting people and seeing who feels like the right fit. Payment is $30/hour through a Financial Management Services provider as part of Indiana’s Self-Determination Program through the Regional Center. Before beginning paid shifts, caregivers will need to complete the provider’s onboarding process, including a background check and verification of eligibility to work in the United States. If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you! Please send a little about yourself, your experience with children, and your availability. We’re excited to meet someone who will enjoy getting to know Indiana and becoming part of her support team. Cheers, Alisha
