About this nanny job
We're looking for a part-time nanny/sitter (educator experience preferred) for our energetic, smart 2½-year-old, Vera. Very occasionally, you may also need to watch our 2-month-old, Mara (see below). (Ages are as of this posting, October 2026.) Schedule: Likely two days a week, starting at 7:30 AM and ending around 1:00 PM. Exact days will be confirmed once my husband's schedule is set. Some weeks I may not need assistance at all. What we need (not always required, but just possibilities): • Help with breakfast once you arrive and tidying up afterward • Semi-structured playtime with an educational focus • Someone extremely patient who is comfortable with the full range of toddler emotions • Gentle redirection. We're not looking for a disciplinarian, since she's still a toddler. What to expect: I'll be working upstairs with the baby starting at 8:00 AM. To support the bond you build with our daughter, I won't come downstairs during your shift (unless necessary), so the time is truly yours and hers. If a meltdown gets big enough that she needs me, I'll step in and handle it. The only rare time that I would need you to step in and also look over the infant is if an urgent meeting comes up otherwise I’ll handle the little one. For everyone's safety, there is a camera in the main living area that will be on during your shift. I won't be watching it all day, but it's there for peace of mind for all of us. Our Ideal Fit: Someone punctual and reliable who is looking to work with kids long-term. College experience or a path toward teaching is a plus. You're patient, kind, and warm, and you use good judgment and critical thinking to handle situations on your own rather than texting me about every little thing. That said, I'll be on call to you the whole shift, and I'm literally just upstairs if you need me! Absolutely no smoking, vaping, weed. In-person interview preferred to take place for eligible candidates.
