Seeking an experienced part time caretaker starting Tuesday, Dec 29

About this nanny job

My name is Jarrett and I live in Rhome, TX with my wife Emily and 1 month old baby. We have two friendly energetic medium sized dogs and one shy friendly cat. We live in a clean house in a nice quiet safe neighborhood. My wife and I are both first responders with weird schedules. I’m a police officer and my wife is a 911 dispatcher. I work in the day and my wife works mostly at night. The times we need nanny help will be while I’m at work and my wife is sleeping in the day at home usually. This will be a very simple nanny job. Duties will be just handling basic baby needs like feeding, diaper changing, nap time, and interacting play times. Other than that, just occasionally letting our dogs outside as needed for them. We require some experience with newborns/infants. I’m in the prepping stages of getting ready for a nanny and looking at December 29 as the start day. Schedule & Availability Because our work shifts rotate quarterly (starting in January 2027), we need a nanny with year-round open availability Tuesdays through Fridays between 8:45 AM and 8:45 PM. However, this is not an "on-call" position—you will only work 1 to 3 days per week (6 to 26 hours total). Your exact schedule is locked in for months at a time, and you will always get plenty of advance notice before a quarterly change or an added shift. Because we need you to keep that Tuesday–Friday window open for our rotating schedule, we are happy to negotiate a guaranteed weekly minimum payment, even on weeks when you work fewer hours. How Each Quarter’s Schedule Works Our first week will be Tuesday, Dec 29 and Wednesday, Dec 30, 2026, from 2:45 PM – 8:45 PM (12 hours total). Moving forward, each quarter your regular set days will be either Tuesdays only OR Thursdays and Fridays, with an occasional 6-hour shift added on Wednesdays as needed. Your shift hours will depend on whether Mom is assigned to nights or days for that quarter. Currently, while Mom is on nights, your shifts will be 2:45 PM – 8:45 PM (6-hour shifts)—Mom sleeps during the day and leaves for dispatch at 4:30 PM, and Dad gets home from work by 8:45 PM. If Mom rotates to days in a future quarter, your shifts will be 8:45 AM – 6:45 PM (10-hour shifts with a lunch break). These are all examples, and hopefully it makes sense. Pay: Up to $25/hr Negotiated guaranteed minimum weekly pay regardless of hours worked. Pay by check or zelle every week.
