I have 25 plus years of experience caring/teaching children and managing a home. Besides raising three children of my own, I have also taught swimming lessons for 20 summers, substitute taught, homeschooled, cared for twins, managed diabetes, am CPR/AED/First Aid certified, Newborn Care Specialist cert, Birth and Postpartum Doula certs, held live-in and live-out positions in the MD, VA, DC area, and have excellent references. I enjoy taking children on fun outings to the zoo, library, parks, museums, live music, puppet shows, feed the ducks, etc. I am also very active and play or have played most sports. In addition to having fun with the children, I am very educational minded and I teach them at all stages of development--sitting, walking, talking, ABC's, numbers, colors, shapes, reading, manners, respect, thankfulness, kindness, sharing, etc. Kids love me and I love them! My passion for childcare began at my aunt’s in-home daycare, where I helped care for 6–8 children afterschool. I enjoyed feeding them, playing, and creating fun, memorable experiences. That early foundation led to four years of full-time experience with Sittertree and Care.com, two of the most trusted childcare platforms. I’ve cared for children from newborns to age 13 and have hands-on experience supporting kids with ADHD, autism, and Asperger’s. I’m CPR certified and bilingual in English and Spanish, which has been especially helpful for many of the families I’ve worked with. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology (focused on family life studies). On Sittertree I was favorited by more than 70 families, and many of those relationships continue today. Those families still regularly reach out when they need reliable care. Hello to all the beautiful families out there! My name is Farrah, and I am a current Doctor of Chiropractic student who has always loved caregiving. Since the age of 13, I partook in caregiving services for children ages three mos -16 years of age and seniors under my unofficial company name, FairBear Cares Babysitting Services. Fun fact, the name FairBear came from the babies I used to teach dance to for about 4-5 years while in high school. They were too young to enunciate my name, so they called me "Miss Faywuh or Miss Fare." In Whitney Houston's song, The Greatest Love of All, she said, "I believe the children are our future," and that gives a glimpse of why caregiving is so special to me. The joy and authenticity of kids is so refreshing and honestly an inspiration to me. I also live to serve, so giving back in any capacity is my true heartthrob. With that being said, I have experience in the healthcare field from working in Long-term acute care facilities and memory care senior homes, enabling me to sharpen skills such as empathy, patience, and being more nurturing to the patients and their families. I absolutely LOVE transforming a caregiving experience, so it is immersive, engaging, and peaceful for those being looked after. My name is Rose, and I am graduating from Auburn University this August in Nursing! I just moved to Charleston to work as a Pediatric Nurse at MUSC following graduation! I worked at a preschool for children ages 2-5, and I have babysat throughout my time in college for children ages 1-6. I have worked at various summer camps, one that was ages K5-5 and focused on teaching campers how to be money-smart, understand wants vs. needs, and practice philanthropy. The other was an overnight summer camp for ages 12-17. Lastly, I mentored a 7-year-old little boy each week through an organization called Project Uplift. Project Uplift is a volunteer organization to help children develop constructive, happy lives who face many obstacles. I normally describe it as being similar to a big brother / big sister program!

My responsibilities have included driving to/from school, crafts, tutoring, and even dance lessons. However, I will not have a car once I move to the city.
