Hello! My name is Jennessa (first name Kathryn). I'm 27, and have been a nanny and babysitter for multiple other wonderful families over the course of the past 7 years with kids ranging from newborn (4 weeks) to 10 y/o. While I am new to the UrbanSitters platform, I have previously worked through a nannying agency and will gladly provide references from my past clients. I love pets and am very comfortable with being around/ caring for them, am CPR/First Aid certified, speak Spanish, and have years of experience as a private tutor. I have a BA in English from Boston College and spent the past two years working a very draining writing job in the legal field. The entire time I missed the kids and families I used to nanny for, so I am regrouping and reentering the childcare field! My goal is always to provide a safe, fun, low-stress environment for children where they feel comfortable expressing themselves. I also love to foster the development of strong language skills and creativity through reading and storytelling. I am often described as calm, patient, creative, and engaging. I'd love to hear more from you and learn about your childcare needs!
Hi! My name is Juliette, and I’m a Psychology major at Boston College. I am originally from California. I’ve always loved working with children. I grew up babysitting for my neighbors. In high school, I ran an afterschool art program for 1st–4th graders, helping students express themselves and build confidence through creativity was a truly rewarding experience. I’m patient, dependable, and active, and I enjoy engaging kids through play, crafts, and reading. My goal is to create a fun, safe, and positive environment where children can thrive. I also love to cook and bake, am happy to help with homework and household tasks, and I’m comfortable caring for pets as well.
Hi there! I'm originally from Los Angeles and just graduated from Boston College, where I studied English and marketing. I've spent the past several years babysitting for about 5 families across LA, so I'm comfortable with kids of different ages and personalities. I'm one of three girls in my family, and I grew up with two very energetic dogs at home—so I'm no stranger to chaos (or cleanup)! In my free time, I love watercolor painting, playing volleyball, and dreaming up fun activities and games to keep kids engaged and entertained. I'm also proficient in French and always happy to practice with kids who are learning or in a bilingual household! I currently work part-time as a jewelry stylist and sales associate at Gorjana, so my availability varies depending on my shifts, which fall between 10am–7pm, plus two full days off each week. I'm happy to work around my schedule to find a time that fits yours!
Hi! My name is Medjina. I’m a sophomore at Boston College studying Psychology and Human Development, and caring for others has always been something that comes naturally to me. I have experience in both childcare and healthcare. I currently work as a clinical assistant at Dana Farber, and before that I worked at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Those roles have taught me how to be responsible, patient, calm, and attentive, especially in busy or high stress situations. I am used to following routines, prioritizing safety, and communicating clearly with families. I also have a lot of experience working with children. I come from a big family and have spent many years babysitting younger cousins, including toddlers. I’ve always enjoyed being around kids and helping them feel comfortable and supported. I also volunteered as a camp counselor at a local YMCA, where I helped with daily routines, activities, meals, and supervision. That experience helped me learn how to keep kids engaged while also making sure they feel safe and cared for. What I love most about caregiving is building trust and being someone families can rely on. I enjoy creating a calm, positive environment where kids feel secure and parents feel at ease. I’m dependable, organized, and happy to help however I can. I’m comfortable with cooking, cleaning, organizing, household chores, and pet care, and I enjoy helping families keep things running smoothly. I would love the opportunity to support your family and be a sitter you can trust.
Hi! I am a new graduate nurse from Boston College. I will be starting as a Labor and delivery registered nurse starting this fall. I have great availability this summer. For the fall and moving forward, I will have a very flexible schedule. I have worked with kids in both the hospital/clinical setting as well as educational, working as a paraprofessional in the NYC Department of Education.
Hi! My name is Josephine. I'm originally from Portland, Oregon, but recently graduated from Boston College in May, and moved to New York City in June! I've been babysitting since middle school and have the most experience caring for toddlers and school-age children, though I'm happy to work with kids of any age. I'm incredibly responsible, organized, and dependable, and I always strive to create a safe and fun environment for the children I care for. In addition to childcare, I'm happy to help around the house with cooking, cleaning, laundry, dog walking, and other household tasks. I also speak French and a little Spanish, and I'm glad to help with homework or provide extra academic support when needed. A little about me: I love spending time outdoors, exploring New York, and visiting art museums. Whether we're doing crafts, playing outside, reading books, or helping with homework, I enjoy finding activities that keep kids engaged and having fun. I'd love the opportunity to meet your family and help however l can!
I’m a current 3rd year medical student interested in pursuing pediatrics and pediatric psychiatry. I am officially trained in CPR [Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Basic Life Support (BLS)] for both adults and children. As part of my medical training, I have helped care for children of all ages in both outpatient and inpatient settings including those with learning differences or neurodiversity. As a middle child, I have experience with older and younger children which informed my approach to babysitting (and conflict management 😊). I am comfortable taking care of and working with both young and older children. On a personal note, I am a Florida native with immigrant parents from South America, thus I have a native proficiency in Spanish and I love soccer. Also, I have a background in art. I am open to preparing meals for children as long as any allergies, dietary restrictions, or preferences are disclosed in detail. I am comfortable with pets in the home if they are well-behaved/trained and have no history of causing any illness, injuries, or bites to others. For transparency: pet-sitting is not one of the services I offer. In addition, I have experience as a summer school teacher and tutor for middle school and high-school students. I offer tutoring for middle school, high school and college levels in the following areas: basic sciences, biology, general chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy/physio, psychology, neuroscience, history, writing, reading, college and medical school application essays, SAT/ACT/AP exam in the aforementioned subject areas, MCAT exam (behavioral science and CARS sections). I have experience tutoring since I was in middle school, high school, college and have continued to do so in medical school. For your convenience, I am more than happy to overlap tutoring with baby sitting depending on the number of children and their ages. For example, if there are two kids to be watched and the older one is being tutored, I would feel more comfortable if someone else was home supervising the other child if that child is very young at least for the duration of the tutoring session.
I grew up in NYC and have been living in a quaint river town on the Hudson north of the city since 2009. I have a Bachelor's in Communications from Boston College. Besides having raised 2 children of my own as a stay-at-home mom (I have a 12 yr old daughter and 19 yr old son in college), I also worked as an assistant teacher at a Montessori school for a year and a half in a combined classroom of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years (meaning 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders), and now I am working with Jovie in New York caretaking for children from ages 6 months to 4 years so far. I WILL BE RELOCATING TO SARASOTA IN LATE JUNE and am looking for employment with childcare, pets, and seniors. I have had pets all my life, both dogs and cats (I currently have a dog and cat). But, have had all sorts of animals that lived into their old age. I also was a caretaker for my mother at the end of her life. I love children, animals, music, art, gardening, exercise and the ocean (warmer climate!). I consider myself a very loyal caretaker. I'm also an artist, meditation teacher and master reiki healer.
Have raised 5 wonderful kiddos of my own. I am a paraeducator at a local school in Mission Viejo working with Autistic students . I also have 15 plus years experience working with families after school from pick ups, homework help, play activities, respite care, household chores, Summer help and activities. I love animals. Clean driving record. CPR and first aide certification. Retired RN.
