Hello to all! I am a rising Junior at Columbia University studying philosophy looking to babysit. I have worked babysitting jobs before back home in DC for parents of my school. Throughout those experiences, I've always appreciated the connection I was able to form with the kids as I watched them progress and grow. I have also worked as a soccer coach for refugee children through a program offered at my high school. Through this experience I was able to better understand how to lead groups of kids for physical activity while also making sure they are just having fun. Furthermore, I come from an international background and can speak three languages (English, French, and German) and really enjoy imparting some linguistic knowledge on the kids who are willing to learn. In doing this job, it is my goal to be someone the kid can laugh with, learn with, and play games with as I take the weight of having children off your shoulders for hours at a time.
Hi! My name is Sophie and I'm a 23 year old Poetry MFA student at Columbia. I adore working with children, and am passionate about the patience, care, and creativity that it takes to give children the love they need! As well as being an experienced babysitter since I was thirteen, I have been a preschool teacher since I was a junior in High school, working at Shirat Hayam preschool of the North Shore from 2[removed] and the Preschool of the Arts Cambridge as a full-time preschool assistant during the summer of 2021 and 2023. There, I worked in the infant classroom as well as substituting for the 4-5 year old class. After graduating from Bennington College in 2023, I also worked as an English teacher in Kazakhstan for seven months, teaching classrooms of teenagers. It's very important to me that I create a safe, open, and fun environment where kids can feel their best to explore and feel grounded. I am skilled at creating projects and games for children, changing diapers, and well-versed in caring for infants. I am CPR certified. Feel free to contact me about references!

Hi! I’m Emily. I grew up in New Hampshire and have lived in New York City for the past eight years. I have over 15 years of childcare experience, beginning with neighborhood babysitting when I was 11 and continuing throughout high school, college, and adulthood. By day, I work in clinical research at Mount Sinai Hospital, where I coordinate patient care and clinical trials. My work has taught me the importance of responsibility, communication, and creating a calm, supportive environment—qualities that I bring to childcare as well. I have experience caring for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers, and am comfortable supervising multiple children at once. Whether we’re doing crafts, playing outside, helping with homework, preparing meals, or winding down for bedtime, I strive to create a safe and engaging environment where children feel comfortable and parents feel confident. I am also comfortable caring for pets, have experience with overnight care, and can provide excellent references from families in both New York City and New England. I look forward to meeting your family!

Hi, I’m Meg! I’m a outdoorsy, kind, & dependable babysitter and current grad student based in Brooklyn with my own car. I have been in childcare for as long as I can remember — I earned my first Red Cross certification in 5th grade and have since worked in a variety of childcare capacities. Growing up in Colorado gave me a deeply rooted appreciation for spending time outdoors, and I enjoy planning active adventures and exploring parks whenever possible. I enjoy volunteering in NYC for Girls on the Run and Achilles Kids. As a summer camp counselor for the Snowmass Club, I supervised groups of 15-30 campers between the ages of 5 and 12. I led weekly outdoor recreation trips ranging from local hikes to river rafting, prioritizing children's safety throughout. For 4 years, I volunteered for a peer mentorship program as a “Big Buddy” for elementary and middle school students. Building one-on-one relationships refined my ability to connect with children of different ages and personalities. During the pandemic, I supported several families in a tutor role, helping elementary students remain engaged with remote learning while preparing lunch and planning craft projects.
