I recently moved to Highland Park and will be starting my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Rutgers (New Brunswick) this September. At the moment, I am only looking for occasional babysitting jobs. Before moving to NJ this summer, I lived in New York City for five years while completing my master’s degree at Columbia University and working in the field of youth mental health. My education in Clinical Psychology, along with my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Child Development from UC Davis, has given me a strong understanding of child development, behavior, and children’s needs. I have over 10 years of experience working with children of all ages in a variety of settings. I’ve had numerous part-time nanny and babysitting jobs with children ranging from newborns to 15 years old. I also worked as a camp counselor for many years and as a math and reading tutor. I’m happy to help with homework, tutoring, and even college applications. I am reliable, extremely empathetic, kind, and funny, and I easily connect with kids to create a fun and safe environment. Lastly, I am a big animal lover and am open to pet sitting jobs as well!

Hello! I work full-time as a Child Mental Health Therapist. I have a Masters degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Prior to that, I attended and graduated from Pace University where I majored in Psychology. I have a lot of experience working with children as I have been a part time nanny before. I have babysat children from newborn age to 13 years old. I have experience changing diapers, making baby formula, playing with children, reading and helping them write and just doing activities with them. I have experience doing pick ups and drop offs and also babysitting multiple children at once. I also have experience with bathtime and bed time routine and can help prepare meals if needed. I love babysitting because it has helped me become more patient with children and I love being around children because they are just full with life and happiness. I love to travel, do yoga and dance classes and read and hang out with friends! I am someone who you can always count on to be there for you and help you out!

My name is Liz, I’m 33 years old, and originally from Brazil. I’ve been working with children for over ten years in a variety of roles that include nannying, family assistance, and cook support. I’m passionate about creating structure while also keeping things fun, organized, and nurturing for the children and families I work with. Previously, I was a family assistant/nanny/cook for a family with two school-aged girls. My mornings started early, getting the girls ready for school by prepping lunch boxes, encouraging them to make their beds and tidy their rooms, hairstyles, and handling school drop-offs. I was also responsible for the weekly grocery shopping and collaborate with the mom on meal planning to ensure the family’s routine and nutrition needs were met. I handled all the cooking and meal prep and also took on various home projects such as organizing rooms, closets, and redesigning garage storage systems. When the kids were home, I focused on engaging them with activities like crafts, cooking together, outdoor adventures, playground trips, and museum outings. Before this, I was working in a nanny share with a 21-month-old boy and a 22-month-old girl. I had been with the girl since she was 3 months old, and we started the share when the children were 6 and 7 months old. I have hands-on experience with Montessori practices, sleep training, introducing solids, and supporting motor skill development. In a previous role, I worked as a nanny/family assistant for two incredible girls, ages 7 and 10. My responsibilities included school pickups and drop-offs, homework help, coordinating their daily routines, managing their laundry and belongings, and planning fun and enriching activities like hiking, biking, and arts and crafts. As a family assistant, I supported the household by organizing the family calendar, running errands, grocery shopping, helping with meal planning and prep, and generally making sure the household ran smoothly.

Hi! My name is Claire, and I'm a recent college graduate from Columbia University. I love working with kids, and have been tutoring, babysitting, and volunteering as a camp counselor since I was 14 years old. I've worked with youth of all ages, from kindergarteners to high schoolers, for about ten years. I am currently an English tutor and volunteer mentor to refugee high school students with the International Rescue Committee. I consider myself a friendly person who loves reading bedtime stories and crafting. I'm more than happy to help with homework as well. While I'm not a native speaker, I was a Spanish tutor in high school and would be happy to help little ones with introductory level language practice. I'm also more than happy to help care for any furry friends or elderly loved ones you have at home. I look forward to meeting you! Update: Hi everyone, thank you to all the lovely families with whom I have had the joy of working during my time in DC! I will be moving to New York in June to begin a new job, so I unfortunately will only be able to take on one-time jobs over the next month for families in DC. Thank you!

Hello! I am currently a student at Columbia University, and I would love to meet and connect with your family! As the oldest of 5 children, I have been consistently called upon to look after my young siblings, which I have done for about 8 years. Additionally, I babysit often for my younger cousins; right now, my siblings and cousins are school age, however, I do have experience with toddlers. I have previously assisted with an in-home daycare which provided care for children under the age of 6. Over the years I have picked up various babysitting gigs and in the past year, I have started to take sitting more seriously. I have been babysitting for families on the Upper West Side for about a year, primarily with drop-offs, pick-ups, and weekends. I love connecting with children and being a small part of their day, and I love connecting with parents as well!

ABOUT ME: I am a loving, experienced childcare provider and tutor who adores children. I have extensive (25yrs+) of childcare experience as a: nanny, babysitter, teacher, tutor, and camp counselor in the US. I also work globally as a consultant on the health, protection, and well-being of children, adolescents, and women in development and humanitarian emergency settings, mainly in Asia and Africa. I am taking a break from my doctorate in clinical psychology with a child and adolescent focus in the coming months. I have worked with children 0-20yrs of various abilities, backgrounds, and cultural contexts. BACKGROUND: My undergraduate degree was in Studio Art and Environmental Studies with a concentration in Africana Studies, and my graduate degree was in Public Health with a focus on the health, well-being, and protection of children, adolescents, women, and families. APPROACH: I am committed, loving, supportive, and passionate about child development and practical, evidence-based public health and child development best practices for child health, development, and protection. I try to foster learning and creative and developmentally-appropriate play, activities, skills, and daily routines (e.g., sleep hygiene and habits). I consider physical, cognitive, emotional, psychological, social, and moral/ethical aspects of child development and evidence-based research on child health, well-being, and resilience. I facilitate, organize, and supervise outdoor activities, creative and imaginative play, cooking, art, science, volunteer projects, outings, and playdates. I assist with tutoring, homework, reading stories, and other daily routines. I take children to appointments and activities, prepare children’s meals, and do light child-related housekeeping. I try to balance children’s physical and mental health and psychosocial well-being using an evidence-based harm reduction approach. I believe it is vital to employ enough caution to keep children safe and healthy, but not so much that they become anxious, depressed, or developmentally stifled. I have been certified in CPR, first aid, and as a Wilderness First Responder. My language skills are rusty, but I understand some French and Spanish. AVAILABILITY: I accept ‘part-time,’ ‘occasional,’ and ‘date night’ childcare when I am not busy with other commitments. Please see my calendar. RATES: I made $15/hr as a hs student with limited experience and more now due to my training and experience.
Hi, I'm Wyatt, I'm 23, and I recently graduated Columbia University. I am offering child care, senior care, and household services. I love being a babysitter and have lots of experience with kids, both as a babysitter (since middle school) and as a summer camp counselor (throughout high school and college). I have minimal experience with toddlers and no experience with infants, but would love the opportunity to gain experience with these ages. As a babysitter, my responsibilities have included driving to/from school, tutoring, and even drum lessons! I love doing magic tricks, playing games, and doing arts and crafts! I also can work as a household assistant and cook, clean, and run errands. I have been a caretaker for my own grandparents and am happy to cook, drive to appointments, or do other tasks!
Hi, my name is Laura and I’m a first year master’s student at Columbia University. I am offering child care, pet care, and household services. I’ve been babysitting for my own family and family friends since I was a pre-teen! I am the second of 5 kids, so I grew up with a good amount of childcare responsibilities, and I also worked as a nanny in high school. I also had experience in college working with preschoolers through Jumpstart. I love spending time outdoors with kids (parks, playgrounds, or home outdoor space!), and doing arts and crafts, games, or even helping with homework. I own a beagle-mix who I’ve had for 5 years, and I’m very experienced with taking care of dogs. I also have experience taking care of cats. I can also help with a range of household tasks, like cooking, cleaning, and running errands. However I can help out, I’m your girl!
