I have been a sitter for over 20 years, and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in developmental psychology. I have experience caring for kids of all ages, and am comfortable working with larger families and children with special needs. Working with children is something about which I am passionate and which I feel a calling to pursue. As a sitter I strive to strike a balance between energetic play and calm structure. I see my job as having 3 primary duties. Most importantly, keeping the children that I am watching safe. Next, maintaining the house rules and routine, so that children have a sense of stability when their parents are gone. Finally, I want to engage with the kids I am watching and help them have fun- I want "having a sitter" to be a positive experience, something to which they look forward! Beyond sitting I've participated in Big Brothers/Big Sisters and I have taught both martial arts and Sunday school classes for the last 20+ years (typically PK-3rd). Hey I’m Annie! After graduating from East Carolina University in 2017, I began working as an EMT for 3 years and also obtained my BLS certification. I then began working in the dental field and am just trying to pick up extra work to do during my off time. I have a lot of community service experience where I served as a mentor to a child, volunteered as a camp counselor for children with special needs, as well as volunteered in an after school program as a tutor. I have babysat for a few families in Charlotte and nannied for 1 year. Working with kids is an absolute joy and I can’t wait to help out families in the area!

I have worked with infants ages 6-weeks to 8 months during the summers and winters that I had off from school. I have also been an intern and student teacher at an elementary school. I have multiple pets of my own including both dogs and cats. I have been taking care of cleaning my house and cooking food for many years and am a huge fan of clean, healthy, and nutritious eating. I am an extremely creative person with a passion for arts while I also love going on walks and trips to the beach. As I have experience with infants I have a knack for exposing children to different environments, tactile exposure, foods, and textures. Due to my background in education I also am able to incorporate learning into almost anything. Growing up I always wanted a sibling this is where my love for children developed. My first babysitting job started as a teenager. After high school I attended college at East Carolina University my degree is elementary education and child development family relations. After becoming a first time mom the thought of having someone I did not know provide care terrified me. I decided to stay home and become a nanny and help other moms in my same situation. I have been caring for infants for the past 23 years. After many years of education and hands-on experience I provide quality care and treat each child just as I would my own.
