I'm a current teacher and a highly experienced babysitter. I have not actively used this site for a few years as I've had plenty of work, but 2 of my families have moved out of town and other kids grew up😭! I'm looking to renew my customer base and can provide more present references as needed. I like to earn extra money babysitting. I currently work occasionally, for several families with toddlers and school age kids. I work overnights, after school and weekends. I have also spent considerable time working with infants and special needs kids. I've been a teacher for 23 years. Presently, I am employed full time as a social studies teacher who works with a very diverse group of students at Fort Vancouver High School Center for International Studies, teaching 11th and 12th grades. I am looking to pick up extra hours of employment by providing childcare to young or school-age kids. I drive an insured 2019 Hyundai Sonata and I am willing to provide transportation if needed. I own cats myself and enjoy dogs. I'm okay helping out with pets. I absolutely love spending time outdoors and being active; would like to go for walks or hang out at a park with decent weather or play games inside. I'll keep your house very clean or even a bit neater than you left it by sweeping up, running dishwasher, and always picking up after the kids. Just let me know how I can help your household. Hello everyone! My name is Melissa, and I am very new to this site. You can call me nanny Mcphee! I am not kidding when I say this! I have this strong internal mother instinct that naturally drives me to create a safe, fun, and loving atmosphere for children in my presence. I was very fortunate to gain a wealth of experience working with children in all age groups in a multitude of different school settings. I worked for Spokane schools district 81 (Spokane Washington) as an Instructional aid/float classified substitute. In this position, I worked with children with special needs, children who needed behavioral intervention, and I worked side by side with teachers in an array of different classroom settings. My experience does not end here, I also worked as an Education Assistant and had the pleasure to work with students from age groups K-12 in a clinical/learning environment at Prairie Care and I worked as a lead teach in a daycare center for one year.. My personality is very exuberant and child-like. Most people would say I have an innocence to me that awakens my inner child. It's no surprise that children tend to warm up to me very quickly. Throughout my personal life, I have played the role of a nanny or babysitter for many of my family members, neighbors, and friends. I love animals so much and I have cared for cats and dogs from previous pet-owner experience. My number one goal in life, is to achieve happiness through helping other people. What better way can I achieve this none other than putting a smile on a person's face and filling their heart with laughter. Lastly, I graduated from college with an AAS, AA degree, I hold a Medical Assistant certification from Spokane Community College and I completed a year of college credits from Eastern Washington University with a focus on education and pedagogy. At the moment, I am available as an on-call nanny. I currently work as a school bus driver which takes up my schedule throughout the week. I can always work with families and be flexible with scheduling.
