I am a warm, well-educated, energetic woman who turned to child care after I lost a professional job during the recession. Yes! I'm old! But I prefer to say that I am experienced, and I can provide local references who will attest to my reliability, intelligence, and general competence. I am quite outgoing and I think my carbonated sense of humor and creativity allow me to establish a rapport with children of all ages. I have experience with infants, toddlers, and teenagers. I love babies in particular, and enjoy shepherding kids through the early years. I was for many years a children's book designer and illustrator at Random House in NY, and worked as a live-in house parent at a group home for middle schoolers in NY. I consider being a nanny a profession. In addition to child care I am a good cook. I worked for a time at Center for Science in the Public Interest---the Food Nazis!--so I know how to prepare wholesome and nourishing food for children.
