Hi, I’m Tatia! I recently graduated from college and am back home in DC. I have 8 years of professional experience working with children in a variety of capacities, including as a teacher’s aide in school settings, babysitting and caretaking in the home, and serving as an educator and social worker for children through organizational work. Aside from my professional experience, I’m also an older sister to two lovely younger siblings who I’ve cared for over the years, and that’s truly where my passion for working with children began. Through these experiences, I’ve worked with children ages 1–15. I’m very patient, adaptable, and always looking for fun and engaging ways to interact with children. My teaching experience has prepared me to respond thoughtfully to conflicts, support children’s individual needs, and always prioritize safety and care. My culinary experience and passion for cooking also mean I’m more than happy to prepare meals and snacks that are both nutritious and enjoyable for children. As a DC resident, I’m very familiar with the area and love the idea of extending care beyond the home by exploring the many family-friendly events, activities, and sights around the city. I’m very flexible, dependable, and open to any questions. I hope to work with your family soon :)
Hi! My name is Olivia and I'm currently a graduate student at Simmons University. I am offering child care and household services. I've worked as a teaching assistant in several elementary schools and have worked specifically with children with special needs. I worked as an assistant teacher in Howell NJ with children preschool-kindergarten and 1st-2nd grade for three summers. I also worked most recently as a teacher's assistant in Easton PA for 2nd grade students, tutoring in reading and math. I worked as a teacher in my local church's Sunday school for four years, working with kids between 3rd-5th grade. I love working with kids of all ages and engaging with them in whatever their interests may be! I can offer tutoring in math, history, reading/writing, art lessons, as well as beginner lessons in Latin and Russian. I love arts and crafts, playing sports (especially tennis and dance), and reading. I'm available for household services such as cleaning, running errands, and laundry.
I began working with children at my local daycare in the middle of my 10th-grade year until the end of my high school education. Beginning first as a volunteer, I collaborated with teachers on creating creative assignments, serving children their breakfast, changing diapers and clothes, and observing when we took field trips to bowl and trips to the pool. Additionally, before I transitioned to college, I gained experience with a 3-year-old personally. In my time with her, I was able to continue to strengthen my communication skills, find ways to keep her entertained with and without television such as drawing and dancing, and serve her snacks prepared by her mother. Now, I am a proud Aunt of 5 children( 2 boys and 3 girls ages 3mo-9 yrs old) and am trusted to watch them alone. I am experienced with tasks such as feeding, changing, nap time, play time outside, etc. Overall, I have enjoyed being a babysitter. I am always sure to document the day and events of the child/children I care for. Creating a safe, educational, and fun environment is my top priority!
I have tons of experience working with children, especially those in the five and under range. I have previously worked as a camp counselor for preschool aged children, in which I was the lead counselor responsible for fifteen four year old children. I also used to be a swim coach, teaching assistant, and still babysit and teach swim lessons today. All of these jobs have given me a multitude of different experiences with kids and have taught me how to best work with them depending on the situation.
