Meet college nannies and sitters from Life University

Experience: I am the eldest of 5 children, the youngest 3 of them are 18, 16, 15 and it has been such a gift to be an active person in their lives. I have been caregiving and caretaking since I was 12 years old. It began when my dad would drop us off at his friend’s daycare center and I remember helping prepare food, assisting with art projects, changing of diapers and connecting with the little ones. I have previous work history with SitterTree based out of Georgia and I worked there before the COVID quarantine, it was truly such a special time. I felt a special connection to each family I worked for and we were all sad when we had to part ways. One of my favorite stories about my time with SitterTree was how a family nicknamed me “Poppy” because I would bring a suitcase of art supplies and toys to play with the kids and it reminded them of Marry Poppins. Fun Facts: I am a multimedia artist and I love connecting with children through art/creative projects. I also am a former D1 Rugby player and former youth coach so I love to stay active and do my best to keep kids off of screens while we are together. I am an “animal whisperer” and tend to forge special bonds with animals of all shapes and sizes. I have a 7 year old kitty named Aspen. Education: As a former Chiropractic student with 182 credit hours towards being a primary care physician, I have a passion for holistic healing and wellness embodiments. As a former Biopsychology student, I practice positive psychology, mindfulness and compassion as core values to my personality. As a Reiki Master Teacher, I am certified in serving the community with spiritual offerings as well as certifying other practitioners through my lineage and have been an aspiring Entrepreneur for 5 years.

Jennifer BATU is a multi-talented and dedicated professional with extensive experience working with children and families in both France and the United States. Her passion for child development, coupled with her formal training in coaching, makes her a standout in any child care setting. With a degree in coaching for 2 to 16-year-olds, Jennifer has cultivated a unique ability to connect with kids across various age groups, understanding their needs, fostering their growth, and ensuring they have positive, enriching experiences. Jennifer's work with family children for many years, both in France and the US, has provided her with a deep understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and the ability to tailor her approach to meet the specific needs of each child. Her multilingual abilities in English, French, Lingala, Spanish, Portuguese, and Swahili enhance her capacity to communicate effectively with children and parents from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, ensuring that everyone feels understood and supported. As an aspiring Olympic athlete and former bronze medalist awarded by the Mayor of Paris, Jennifer understands the importance of discipline, goal-setting, and resilience—qualities she imparts to the children she works with. Her experiences as a student-athlete, both in track and coaching, make her a role model, teaching kids the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and perseverance. Beyond her coaching credentials, Jennifer’s professional experiences in different sectors, including customer service and diplomacy, have strengthened her leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
