My name is Maria Elena, but I go by Elena. I’m originally from El Salvador and have been living in the Bay Area for 33 years. I am a single mother to an almost 14-year-old boy. I have many years of experience working with children—over eight years as a nanny before my son was born and as part of a nanny share since he was six months old. I truly enjoy spending time with children by reading, doing fun activities, and being outdoors. I love taking kids to the zoo, Fairyland, parks, and library story times. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and reading. I have taken many child development classes, and last year I graduated with a degree in Child Development.

Hi! My name is Wendy. I’m a 24-year-old Oakland native (turning 25 this year) with over 5 years of childcare experience and a deep passion for supporting children and families. I am also a proud mom to a six-month-old baby, which has strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and understanding of how important trust and communication are when caring for someone’s child. I recently completed two years as an AmeriCorps Student Support Specialist at an OUSD elementary school, where I provided behavior support, social-emotional support, and math interventions for students ages 4–12. I worked closely with teachers, administrators, and school psychologists to help students feel supported and successful. Following that role, I worked at Lodestar High School supporting students with diverse and more intensive behavioral and academic needs. That experience strengthened my skills in behavior management, de-escalation strategies, structured routines, and individualized support. I bring many years of babysitting experience through UrbanSitter, caring for children ages 1–16, along with hands-on newborn experience through my extended family and now as a mother. I am fluent in English and Spanish and come from a large extended family, which has shaped my nurturing and adaptable personality. I am committed to creating a safe, structured, and loving environment where children can thrive. I prioritize clear communication with families about routines, meals, and expectations because I understand that every family has unique parenting styles and needs. In addition to childcare, I also have experience and offer house sitting and pet sitting services for cats and dogs. I also have a background in housekeeping, so maintaining a clean and organized home is always part of my care. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and rock climbing and staying active outdoors. I look forward to supporting your family and providing dependable, thoughtful care for your children and home.

Hello Parents, I’m currently available for occasional babysitting and part-time childcare in Oakland. My childcare journey began in 2009, when I worked as an Au Pair in the Netherlands for a wonderful family with a seven-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl. After moving to the U.S. in 2011, I continued babysitting and have since gained experience with infants, multiples, and school-age children. Beyond keeping kids safe and supported, I focus on modeling kindness, curiosity, and respect. I enjoy supporting children as they build confidence, independence, and thoughtfulness. I have extensive experience with infants, babies (including multiples), toddlers, and school-age children. My most recent long-term childcare role was in 2021, caring for a one-year-old baby girl. Since then, I’ve continued babysitting regularly and maintaining long-term relationships with families. I’ve studied Child Development at Merritt College in Oakland, hold a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising with a minor in Cinema, and recently completed my MBA. Outside of work, I’m a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and enjoy walking, roller skating, playing music, reading, and watching movies. I’d love to meet your family and provide thoughtful, reliable care for your children. Thank you!

Hello, I am a mother of two sons ages 28 & 26, and a grandmother of 2, one 7 year old Autistic granddaughter and one 8 month old grandson. I noticed the signs of delay in my granddaughter and successfully facilitated her Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluation through the approval process of her ABA services. So, I work very well with special needs children. I developed lesson plans for my nonverbal Autistic granddaughter and she now reads fluently, her comprehension skills are excellent and she is well beyond children her age intellectually. I am a patient teacher and I have multiple college degrees and I owned and operated a family day home licensed for 8-10 children. I also have been a foster parent. I work from home as a Project Manager for a nonprofit community development corporation that builds affordable housing in the Bay Area. I do this for extra side work to fund my entrepreneurial ventures. I have strong organizational skills, great attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills and I can adapt to any situation. I am a very good housekeeper and cook. I love children, am warm, attentive and patient with children and Elders/Seniors and have great reverence and respect for Elders/Seniors as my own grandparents are still living at ages 94 and 93. I am very protective of both children and Elders/Seniors. My schedule is flexible.
