Hi, I am April and helping families and children is my passion. I am currently a full time Early Head Start Home Visitor for the Puget Sound ESD. Previous to this I was a teacher for Head Start in a blended Special Ed classroom of 3 to 5 year olds. I also worked for Early Head Start as an infant toddler teacher. My work as a Head Start teacher started in 2009. I also have experience as a nanny and have been a supervisor of a childcare center. My experience with children ranges from ages 0 to teens. However, I consider myself an Early childhood professional and 0-5 is who I work with most and feel most confident with. I have experience with children with Autism, Down Syndrom, and a variety of sensory needs. I take pride in working in this field as I believe early childhood education is what builds a successful foundation for learning. I also have a degree in Early Childhood Education. My philosophy with children is based upon them having their social/emotional needs met. When children can feel good about themselves, they are likely to thrive in learning and play. I believe kids are best engaged when they are doing what they love whether that be pretend play, play dough, outdoor play, etc. Getting to know their interests is how I learn to work with them. In addition, I am happy to follow your guidance on their routines as well. I live in Burien. I am available evenings, weekends, and overnights. I am open to housesitting or watching your children while you enjoy a weekend get away. I have a car for transporting children if needed. I also stay to date on my flu and Covid vaccines. Good day! My name is Laura and I reside in Las Vegas along with my husband and 3 children (18, 19 and 21). We have lived in LV for years and have no issues if help is needed at the strip, downtown, Henderson etc. I am a Certified Surgical Technician and currently work PT. I’ve been CPR certified for years and am very comfortable with basic first aid. I am able to assist with child care, adult/senior care, transportation, and any errands that may be needed. I am also an animal lover and love cats, dogs and other fur babies as well. We currently have 3 cats and a 5 month old puppy that thinks she rules the world but is awfully cute. Even though I am not much of a computer gamer, I do love board games, cards, movies, being outdoors, as well as building legos or doing makeovers etc. I am also an avid reader, enjoy writing and can help with any homework as needed. I am also a sports fan and loyal to my hometown of Seattle but enjoy great games no matter who is playing. We adopted our 3 kids (biological siblings) from foster care when they were very young and they are now young adults working their way into full adulthood. We learned a lot thru the whole adoption process and I believe it’s been very beneficial in learning how to communicate with kids in some varying circumstances from temper tantrums or acting out against siblings etc. I am very patient and even though I am very easy going, I am not a pushover either and would enforce any rules that you provide. I am also more than happy to FaceTime or meet in person in advance if there are any questions at all or would just like to meet first. Whether you are working, on vacation, date night or whatever the reason you need someone to help with your family, you can be confident that I will take great care of them as if they are my own. 🙂❤️
