Hi, I am Jayda! I have spent the last three years working as a pediatric dental assistant with over 3,000 hours of hands on experience with children ranging from 6 months to 19 years old. Working with kids is not something I fell into, it is something I have actively pursued my whole life through volunteering, mission work, and now graduate school. I hold a BA in Biology and am currently enrolled in a Master's program in Occupational Therapy with a pediatric focus because working with children is truly my calling. I have extensive experience with high needs children including those with ADHD, autism, and sensory processing disorders. I know how to read a child, meet them where they are, and turn a hard moment into a good one. Beyond my clinical background I have volunteered at a children's museum, taught Sunday school, and traveled to Jamaica to lead a sports camp for underprivileged youth. I grew up on a small farm in upstate New York in a tight knit small town community where neighbors looked out for each other and family came first. That upbringing gave me a grounded, nurturing nature that I carry into everything I do with kids. I am BLS and First Aid certified, comfortable preparing home cooked meals, and experienced cooking for dietary restrictions including gluten free.
