Hi there! I'm Sophie, a Brooklyn newcomer (as of September) with a lifelong love of working with children. My professional background has always centered on kids and families. After eight years in the Bay Area, I've held roles as an Education Director at the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco, then moved into mission-driven EdTech and, most recently, mental health companies focused on expanding access to care for youth. But my connection to children goes back long before my career. I started as a mother's helper in middle school, nannied after school for a six-week-old throughout high school, studied Early Childhood Development at Skidmore College, and in recent years have had the joy of caring for my goddaughter every Thursday since she was three months old. I'm stepping away from my corporate role to slow down intentionally — that looks like applying to graduate school and, I hope, building a meaningful relationship with a family nearby. Hi! I’m a therapist who works with tween/teen girls and I recently moved to Portland. I love spending time with girls ages 6–18 and am available for after-school or before school rides, homework structure support, and evening help. My speciality is mentoring and supporting girls in their emotional development, friendship world, regulation, and self confidence! Before becoming a therapist, I nannied for many families and have a lot of experience working with children and teenagers, supporting families and am still in touch with many of them! I’m not looking for full-time nannying but would love to support local families here and there or find a weekly position with a smaller amount of hours. Looking forward to hearing from you! :)
