My name is Emma and I am a passionate, experienced teacher and educator with a goal to make a difference for the families I work with. I have over 18 years of childcare experience and have worked in Spain, France and Switzerland in addition to the US as a nanny and babysitter as well as private tutor for children ages 5 months-18. I was born in the United States (Connecticut) and have worked in the public and private school system in the northeastern United States, California, Hawaii and France and Switzerland. I taught preschool and elementary school for over 11 years, after graduating from Smith College. In addition, I recently began teaching high school French, ELL and Spanish. My overall childcare experience began in 2007, when I started working as a nanny in CT; from there, I continued throughout my teaching career to do childcare work. I have experience as a tutor and classical education (I can help with even Latin homework!). I love spending time at museums, parks, and engaging kids through art (drawing, crafts, etc) and being silly. Growing up with two younger siblings taught me my basics-- patience, responsibility, and how to manage routines and sibling dynamics. I have cared for kids individually, and in groups of up to four. I've been teaching and caring for chores of all ages for almost 14 years in many capacities. As a teacher, I've worked in multiple Sunday and Hebrew schools with several age groups, from 4k through 7th grade. In 2019 I lived in Minneapolis. There, I was a substitute teacher for a daycare that took children ages 14 months to 6 years. I spent several days there each week for a year, most of which was in the toddler room. I also spent about 8-9 months as a part-time nanny for a family with a 2yo and a 4yo. I've spent several years working children of varying ages in youth theater (I am an actor/director). This has really informed my creativity and given me great tools for entertaining kids and helping them grow through using their imagination and ingenuity. I am a non-smoker, a cyclist, and a pet lover with no allergies. I am happy to do meal prep, light house work, and art projects. I am also certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and Firdt Aid. Hi! I'm Naylani. I love working with kids! In addition to babysitting, I was also a circus camp coach for 6 summers. As a coach I managed a group of up to 10 kids at a time ages 8-14 and taught them circus skills, did crafts etc. I have taken several CPR and child safety classes over the years and am comfortable caring for children. I also love dogs, I have had a dog all my life and know well what goes into caring for them.
